Rudy on himself: "Rudy is not everyday a shooter. He's defense. He's passes....

...I was just about to post his quote [ "Rudy is not everyday a shooter," Fernandez said. "He's defense. He's passes. He's assists." ]

HCP on himself- " He's not just a player, He's not just a GREAT poster, He's the whole package!"

Kingspeed is not all posting. Kingspeed is owning. Kingspeed is dominating. The King is the checkmate master.

He's got some very tough competition for that. Rose, Mayo, Gasol, Beasley and Love are all having great rookie years as well.

That's true and it's going to get even tougher when Oden starts playing again! But I think he's going to get a good shot at it. Especially if we play well as a team. Be fun to watch anyway!

Best sound bite guy in the league by far IMO.

I score on your face is one of the top quotes ever.

Rudy's defense is underrated. His feet are in constant motion when he's on the ball, like a featherweight boxer in the opening round. He's always got one eye on his man and one eye on the ball, and although he gambles a little you really don't see him get burned often because he takes high percentage risks. I wouldn't put him as any higher than an average defender right now, mostly because he's lousy at fighting through screens. (Probably played a lot more zone in Spain. Sergio sucks at it too.) But even "average" is pretty good for a rookie, especially one with so many other skills.

When healthy, there shouldn't be a single minute of competitive basketball where neither Rudy nor Roy are on the court. We've got 48 minutes of premium shooting guard play, which is a huge luxury.

I forgotten about that charge he took. He was pretty great tonight. Like he says, he's not all about shots.

Actually, it reminds me of....Batum. The press asked him in the preseason what he needed to work on. He said
something like "I don't know". Shooting? "No, I can shoot". Rebounding? "I can rebound alright" Defense?
"I am a pretty good defender". (These aren't exact quotes).

Instead of the usual "I need to work on everything" line, Batum was confident in himself. And this was before
he started playing well in the preseason
- hilarious!

Wow, I just read that article. If half of our team had the passion he has for the game... we are winning the championship this year. Rudy is the man!

I loved that quote. I loved it even more because it is 100% true. He is most definitely not your everyday shooter.

He is your everyday cold blooded basketball assassin. He is like a spanish basketball ninja.

Keep Rudy.

F the haters who have never once dropped the ball in their life's even though the conditions were less than optimal

Rudy can turn this around. But he has to want to do it instead of blaming others.

A agree he can turn this around, but this is another off season where his name has come up with wanting a more important role and more minutes. He had a chance to at least prove it is a couple Phoenix games that he can score, and provide more of a important role, but he just couldn't do it. I say trade him to a team that can get us a backup PG who can attack the basket. Rudy needs a team that don't want him to improve is areas beside shooting like GS or NY

Yes I agree. The one thing though I always think about is I have seen players turn it around in the past. The thing that concerns me is that not only does he not seem to work on his game, but when you watch him practice, all he does is fuck around, and he has never worked on getting his body into NBA physicality level. He doesn't look like he has hit the weight room one day in his life. That tells me he is not trying. When you aren't trying, you won't get much sympathy from me. If he was working hard, and still falling short, I would have no problem with that.

Yeah, if you put Bayless' drive and focus into Rudy's body and skills, you might have...Ginobli...or better. At this point it doesn't look like that is going to happen.
