I don't see how Augustin is a massive upgrade at all.

You guys bagging on Bledsoe are fucking idiots.....

Armon Johnson is nowhere near the same caliber of player that Bledsoe is...

That would be a good trade for POR, Bledsoe is a young PG who could end up being a good starting caliber PG, much better than DJ Augustin.....Kid has got serious potential....

By FAR the best deal I have heard for Crawford yet....

augustin is comparable to felton. The only difference is youth. How did that work out last time with miller for felton?

Wasn't Augustin Felton's backup in Charlotte? So he's better, but he never beat him out for the starting spot? :MARIS61:

Speaking of massive -- these 'rumors' are such a massive downgrade from the Rondo chatter.

Yeah, but the Rondo talk was nothing but a pipedream anyway....That was all about Ainge trolling for some suckerfish....

He's not ... he'd probably be a stopgap ~14-15 PER kind of point guard who can't defend because of his short stature

Nah, not really. Agustin is at least more comfortable in a half-court offense, whereas Felton has always been a North-South type point guard. Presumably he'd fit in better with guys like Nic and Aldridge.

Augustin is the reason the Bobcats didn't extend Felton.

Shows they had a lot of faith in him by taking kemba walker too

Different regimes value different things. I'm guessing Cho prefers guys taller than 5'10"?

2ppg, 27% 3point shooting and 30% FG. Potential!!!!! :MARIS61:

Presidente, you really want to draw any kind of conclusion based on 98 minutes of garbage time?

:MARIS61: indeed.

Yeah, and Luke Babbit is the next Larry Bird. Face it, he's a 3rd string point guard, you're getting what you see. He's not going to surprise us. He'll be fighting Nolan Smith for PG minutes. and Nolan will probably beat him out.

Gomes makes 4 million next year. Not sure why we'd grab him, we likely won't play him.
Exactly why we probably don't want him. There's always a sticking point. :)

You could've said the exact same thing about Elliot Williams up until a few weeks ago...

It's all about perspective, so here's mine: Bledsoe is a big, long, athletic PG who really hasn't had a show to run since HS, however everywhere he's gone since, he's shown flashes of stellar play when given the opportunity. Augustin would be fine, but he likely is what he is at this point. A king's ransom from Minny would be great but unrealistic, and we simply aren't going to get much better than that...

We're not going over the top with Crawford as is... Does Augustin put us over the top? Does anything short of Wes Johnson and Minny's completely unprotected #1 put us over the top? Doubtful, on both accounts. Bledsoe might, or might not be a PGOFT, but at this point, taking a chance on him being just that seems like a better idea than going the "safe" route w/ Austin or a less-than-stellar deal w/ Minny...

What on earth are you talking about?!? He's 22 years old and has never been able to show his talents as a lead guard. He's the exact opposite of "you're getting what you see". That statement needs to be reserved for guys like Steve Blake.

Now I know why we're targeting him.

Of which he has come back fine from....

New Orleans wanted him in the deal for Paul and the Clips wouldn't include him....

I actually am surprised POR is (if they are) targeting him, b\c I rate this current mgmt\scouting as completely inept...and this type of trade would prove the opposite...

^ lol- hey but at least we'll have his [Blake's] hot wife back in town.
