I know the Celtics are saying (Rajon) Rondo isn’t going anywhere. But there are two problems with that. (1) It doesn’t jibe with what a number of NBA GMs are saying based on conversations they’ve had with Celtics president Danny Ainge. (2) Ainge isn’t stupid. He doesn’t want to trade Rondo, but Rondo is the best chip he has to play right now.
If Ainge waits and does nothing, the Celtics will be a middling lottery team without much hope next season — in the same spot where Ainge inherited them a few years ago. He doesn’t want to go back there. If he can get two pieces back for Rondo, I think he’ll do it. Atlanta, Portland and Indiana are interesting destinations if they are willing to pay.

John Hollinger of ESPN.com writes in a chat...The Blazers will move pretty much anybody except Aldridge and Batum, and they might even move Batum if the right Canadian point guard came along. So yes, expect conversations involving Wallace, Felton, Crawford, Camby and Matthews.
Again, if they move Batum for 38 year old Steve Nash I will flip.

It looks bad, but what if we got Phoenix's protect first rounder? What if we trade Crawford to Minny for Utah's first rounder and Ridnour?
IF we got an unprotected or lightly protected pick from Phoenix, then fine. IF we get Utah's unprotected pick from Minny then fine. However if we trade Batum for Nash then fuck the Blazers. If we trade Crawchuck's sorta expiring for Ridnour's non expiring then fuck the Blazers
Dont get your panties in a bunch. No way we trade a young potential stud like Batum for Nash, even though he is a current All Star. We all know Nash only has 2-3 good years left. Batum has 10+ good years.
Even as Josh Smith is having a strong season for the Hawks he has let the team know he wants to be traded as the March 15 deadline approaches, according to people with knowledge of Smith’s thinking.

Nothing directly about the Blazers but still interesting:

I would go all in with getting Smith.
Utah's pick is lotto protected.
Why? He's an undersized PF who can't play SF or C.
By making that move you either piss him off even more by bringing him off the bench (on his hefty salary) or you play LaMarcus out of position at Center.
We need help at PG. Desperately.
IMO it's just a lot smarter to go after a PG. It'd be a relief to actually have a capable PG for the first time since Porter.
I also like Williams as the future SG with Batum at SF -- of course, that's if Nic is not moved for a PG.
Lol so andre miller or rod strickland werent capable?

League source: Reported Blazers / Pacers talks for Jamal Crawford are "legitimate." Portland asking for 2012 first & A.J. Price
...Pacers balking at including pick. "The first team to give Portland a first round pick for Crawford will have him," source said.
