AJ Griffin's shooting numbers are incredible. 44.7% 3-point shooting on 4.1 attempts per game, 54.7% on 2-pointers, and 79.2 % on free throws.
You're not overthinking it.
"Duke got carved up whenever he was guarding the PNR."
Go to the 7:11 mark in this video. It's not pretty.
I'm done for the most part questioning mechanics when we're dealing with this level of shooter.
I had issues with Desmond Bane mechanically and he's already one of the best shooters in the league.
Who ever said that? LolFor a guy whose defense is supposed to be a strength...it sucks!
He shot 60% from the ft line. Thats usually the best indicator for how a prospect will shoot in the leagueIn Dyson Daniels last 10 games, on 3-point shots, he shot 15-33. That is 45%.
weird logic, probably how one ends up drafting CJ McCollum over Giannis.
So if they were both available at #7, would you take him over Duren? They are both projects, both highly athletic, but we have actual info on how one plays 5-5. You don't see that info as at all useful?
Defensively he does. Howard, Ben Wallace. That type of impactI have never liked drafting centers. I think the best way to acquire centers is through free agency or trade. Przybilla and Nurk were both acquired after another team used a draft pick on them. Duren is intriguing though, but does he have superstar potential?
these are HOF'ers. I think that's reaching a bit. If he had really that kinda buzz, I think he'd be projected top 3, no?Defensively he does. Howard, Ben Wallace. That type of impact
agree, he wouldn't have drop as much as he has.these are HOF'ers. I think that's reaching a bit. If he had really that kinda buzz, I think he'd be projected top 3, no?
Ben Wallace was undrafted. Both built similarly, both came in as defendersthese are HOF'ers. I think that's reaching a bit. If he had really that kinda buzz, I think he'd be projected top 3, no?
ben wallace was not ben wallace until later in his career.Ben Wallace was undrafted. Both built similarly, both came in as defenders
Collins was also supposed to be a defensive monster.Defensively he does. Howard, Ben Wallace. That type of impact

Yes, he has superstar potential. He is very different from Przybilla and Nurkic. His ceiling would be something like Dwight Howard with the ability to defend the perimeter well enough (better than Nurkic and Przybilla).I have never liked drafting centers. I think this guy has a little better chance to be a defensive monster than Zach Collins.Collins was also supposed to be a defensive monster.
Ben Wallace had a positive DBPM every year but his first. Duren has a shit ton more ability than Ben Wallace, this the lottery projectionben wallace was not ben wallace until later in his career.
Bigger handsCollins was also supposed to be a defensive monster.
Walton and Sabonis were from the draft.I have never liked drafting centers. I think the best way to acquire centers is through free agency or trade. Przybilla and Nurk were both acquired after another team used a draft pick on them.
At 18 years old he's early in his development, but physically... height, weight, length & jumping... he's more Hakeem then CapelaDuren is intriguing though, but does he have superstar potential?
I want nothing to do with evaluating Sharpe other then to say that he has obvious physical gifts a pretty outside stroke and seems intriguing. I would reserve judgement if Portland drafts him as they have seen a whole lot more of him then I have. And this is why I want nothing to do with Sharpe.
With Griffen we at least have history of him playing 5-on-5 against real competition.
Eason has worked out with Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta, OKC, NYK, Minny, CLE, Memphis, San Antonio, and now Portland.
I like the addition of Lofton.
i'm hoping to see David Roddy roll through here.Evan Battey is a big, thick forward (6'8", 260) who can stroke from outside (shot nearly 50% from 3 this year). I'm sure he's too slow and ground-bound to be a legit player, but I could see him finding his way onto a roster as a pick-and-pop threat off the bench. Plus he's just got a great story, recovering from a stroke in his freshman year.
I know we're trying to build around Dame, but I'd really love to get another pick to go after Sochan or Eason.

i'm kinda hesitant on it too, but it's really hard to be as productive a perimeter/wing defender as him without some sorta bball smarts. really think it's a smokescreen based on a continuing narrative.i used to be in on eason but after hearing how bad his bbiq is I’m totally out. Even the most athletic players are useless without good bbiq (see Travis outlaw or Thomas Robinson)
Wouldn't surprise me to see Sochan go in top ten at all.I know we're trying to build around Dame, but I'd really love to get another pick to go after Sochan or Eason.
