Well, Olshey wanted to tank and build around CJ and Dame (who were 22 and 24 then). That's why the Blazers didn't retain RoLo and Mathews and maybe Batum. If the Blazers sucked enough to nab Embiid, Porzingis, and/or Simmons, it'd be Sixer fans who say, "We need a Neil Olshey rather than a Hinkie."
Truthfully, this team has over-performed for what level of talent it has because we were only one thirteen game win streak away from being a borderline playoff team.
Trading a few key role players for picks should do the trick in propelling the Blazers to the bottom - giving this team a shot or two at drafting a legitimate star. Imo, that should be the Blazers strategy if they don't want to get stuck in mediocrity.
