Scoot injury

All of you naysayers need to Chill! Dude is 19 and plays the most complex position on the team. He will be fine, before the ankle injury he was making positive strides. Do you think the G league is anywhere near the big league as far as competition/ talent goes? Name a point guard that came in at 19 and lit up the association the first month of games?

I will continue to watch him figure it out and learn how to run a team. Will he be a super star? The hope is yes but those type of accomplishments take time unless your name is Lebron or Magic.

Enjoy the ride and have fun watching the development!

Steve Nash had 3pts and 2ast per game his first season. Second season he was at 9 and 3.

Finally got 30mpg his 3rd season and put up like 8 and 5...

I agree with you. Point guards can take a while.
Phoenix had All-Star Kevin Johnson playing point. Nash was a bench guy to start his career. The Suns didn't lose on purpose, draft Nash at #3, trade KJ, then tell everyone this kid is the future of the franchise.

What the Blazers did is really beside the point. We have Scoot. I was hoping Charlotte would take him. But once they didn't we pretty much had to.

8 and 5 in 30 mpg, Nash's 3rd season.

Nash got his butt kicked by the cheating Lakers in the playoffs. We need Scoot to 1-up Steve Nash. However long it takes... championship

And Nash turned 24 years old halfway through his 3rd season. Scoot will turn 20 halfway though his first season.

I never expected 20-5-10. More like 16-5-5.
Even 10-5-3 would have been pretty decent and something to build upon. 8-4-2 on 5 games though really isn't that bad beings his minutes were severely restricted due to fouls. In 5 games he has 23 assists with 20 TO's. He has 20 PF's and has fouled out once with 5 fouls two other games. A total -43 so far while playing.
To put it lightly he's had a rough start. He can be much better and we all hope to see it.

Too small a sample size to make judgments on Scoot. He won't be a bust. New coach, new teammates, new competition takes time to get used to for a PG, esp 19 y/o

That was pretty much my point. It’s 5 games and he was in foul trouble most of it.

This injury really sucks. Can we get some sorta realistic timeline or is this going to be like gp2weeks?

well, 6 days ago, the Blazers said 2-3 weeks so it might still be 1-2 weeks before they can even re-evaluate

I also wonder about Brogdon's hamstring

Dame will eat him for lunch on Sunday if he's coming straight off injury without any prep or practice beforehand.

Honestly, it might be better for his development to get more experience in the GLeague. He's only 19. It would be like playing college ball. Especially when we get Simons and Brogdon back.

G leauge is considerable worse talent than college. We’ve now seem the majority of players who come from there to the nba terribly struggle.

Yeah I never bought the idea that it was a 'professional' league.

It's the semi-pro league, many of them were good/decent college players. It's a step up.

After watching the G League, I don’t agree. He needs to get a feel for the NBA. The G league is considerably worse.

That doesn't seem logical, because most g-league players CAME from division I colleges, so how can it be worse? They are more experienced as well.

The only way to know for sure would be to have them play each other.

Are you talking about Scoot?

Scoot is the only Trail Blazer that has a clue how to throw a pass to Ayton.

The rest of the team it's just a lot of god awful passes.

The players don't play to win, they play to get theirs, and showcase their skills.

College ball is much more structured.
