Officials: Adult punched 8th-grader during basketball game
GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) - Officials say an eighth-grade basketball player in Oregon needed 10 stitches after he was punched in the face by an adult during a game.
The Daily Courier reports (https://is.gd/KqZPg7 ) the incident happened Sunday after a hard foul in the game in Medford between a team from Humboldt County, California, and one from Hidden Valley, near Grants Pass.
Police say the boys involved in the foul exchanged blows before a Humboldt supporter ran onto the court and punched the Hidden Valley player, opening a gash above his eye.
Police are seeking video to determine further details. No arrests have been made.
Lt. Kerry Curtis says a person of interest contacted authorities to provide his side of the story. He declined to name the man.
The injured boy returned for the fourth quarter of the team's final game in a tournament.

Can't beat Warriors without Dray and Curry, well then there's no reason to even care about this season which is now...
over.
I don't think we can ever reach our ceiling with Stotts as coach, and therefore, I don't think we know what it is.The season isn't OVER but maybe we need to correctly understand what the ceiling of this team is. Many people have been telling us that we've reached it a while ago. And with every blowout game, no matter where we are seeded in the West, that becomes painfully obvious.
Okay, see ya later, enjoy your vacation. Can't beat Warriors without Dray and Curry, well then there's no reason to even care about this season which is now...

What coach can run something better than a high school offense? Hmmm, a lot actually.Who are we talking then, Red Holzman, Red Auerbach, Pat Riley, Tony Robbins, Pep Guardiaola..... What silver tongued/motivational speaker/X and O's shitting genius is going to guarantee us X number of victories over the talent we currently have? Shit. How do we even get Stotts out when he and Dame are so buddy buddy? That's what I'd like to know.

Like Brad Stevens? Yeah, he’s doing well in Boston...What coach can run something better than a high school offense? Hmmm, a lot actually.
Yeah. That has nothing to do with a bunch of talented players struggling to figure out their roles and mesh, or the fact that Kyrie, Tatum, and Brown was in a shooting slump or Gordon Hayward is still not 100%.Like Brad Stevens? Yeah, he’s doing well in Boston...
I've had this argument with Sly before. If you insult everyone, how can it be a personal attack?hey.......no personal attacks!

Thompson had the stroke going, pure and simple. He's up and down. He was up Friday night. It just shows when you have to small guards in your lineup your not going be to successful. Tonight Thompson was very just shooting over CJ. Even CJ had good guarding position at time but Thompson is to tall for CJ to guard. Yes Dame and CJ can score on anyone but on defense there's big liability with to small guards.
Yes he shot good last but what always tell my players if they can see the rim they can score on you. My point Thompson can see the rim pretty damn good when backing down a 6'3 on turn around jump shot. Yes CJ try to contest it I give him credit for that but his size is the problem on defense.Thompson had the stroke going, pure and simple. He's up and down. He was up Friday night.
There's only one river
Simple solution: C.J. needs to front him and make them throw it over the top where help side defense needs to be ready to deflect the pass or contest the shot.Yes he shot good last but what always tell my players if they can see the rim they can score on you. None of those reasons are possible, right? Its automatically Brad Steven's fault? Yet its automatically not the head coaches fault on our case...?
I respectfully disagree, Stephens is a really good coach. I think Hayward and Kyrie coming back has caused a lot of weirdness for that team. Hayward doesnt look even remotely close to what he was but he’s making a lot money so they kind of have to play him. Kyrie is better than Rozier on offense but plays 0 defense whatsoever. So they’re trying to figure out how to play with two guys that kind of hamper the things they did well in the playoffs last year.Stevens is overrated. All that talent and a .500 record. Stotts has less talent and a 12-7 record in a deeper conference.
