I have my doubts too
That's ridiculous. Dame is a superstar and can be the best player on a championship team. If Neil would pull his head out of his ass about CJ and others we could easily build a champion out of a Dame/Nurk/Trent core. If a new GM came in, traded Dame for a younger superstar that complimented Nurk and Trent then traded everyone else to complement those three players I could understand it but I would never be OK with it. Dame is this team, Dame is great and Dame deserves players that compliment his game instead of guys like CJ who kills Dame on defense and is redundant to Dame on offense.

As far as skills are concerned that trade would be great but I hate Draymond's personality/attitude and there just isn't any way to make that work with the cap unless they would take Ariza and send back Wiggins but I don't know if I want Wiggins either. Not a bad idea from you though.

They have a shit ton of trade exceptions

Almost done with collins. If he doesnt show big inprovement next year, tome to move on. He's been a downgrade from aminu.

He hasnt shown much improvement since same time last year. I think his offense might even have grown a bit worse? Can't catch a ball - largely due to lack of awareness, and help d and rotations tend to be slow. I'd love to be proven wrong and its just a matter of time, but so far... Meh.

Harks defense was underappreciated. Ariza is very old and hoods d was not a strength befor tearin his achilles.
UH NO! Mo was inconsistant and lacking a consistant motor. He was a so-so offensive player. Ariza is consistant from 3, and twice the defender that Mo is. Hood's defense was easily as good as Harkless.

I know a big part of it is the Blazers don't have enough talent to pull the defense off of him and he is double teamed all game every game. It socks as to see that as a fan, Dane just get continuously swallowed up by opponent double teams.

He needs help so the defense can't afford to double team him anymore. Olshey is not going to bring that help. He wants to continue to take chances on past 1st rounders who haven't worked out. Well guess what Neil, they didn't work out for a reason. He is gambling and losing.

Dame needs to stop talking about those two shots, it's a bad look imo. Let them have their fun and move on. Today is not the day to talk about Beverley and George. It's a emberrasing day for the Blazers
Why? All superstars answer questions like that. He's confident in his abilities. If you aren't , that's a you problem, cause Dame has proven it time and time again. Keep doubting.

How in the fuck do you lose a game you need desperately to a team that pulls it’s starters because they don’t need to win?
I think you are overselling how badly the Blazers needed that win. It is a painful L for how it played out, but going into the bubble I think most of us had it penciled in anyway, and the Blazers still control their own destiny for the play-in games. Now, the how of it is damn uncharacteristic and is going to bare some examination, but I can live with Dame FTs and an open 3 to seal a game.

It takes bigs longer. This is what I’ve been told for years, but really it’s just our bigs that take longer

My theory: if a young player is inconsistent, that may just be part of the maturation process. If they are consistently mediocre (or worse), they are a bad investment. A good (but inexperienced) player can look great one moment and bad the next. If they don't show flashes of greatness from the beginning - they just aren't that good. Talent shines through.

CJ was coming up big today, he does that in big games. Dame had a so so game. Nurk had a number of finger roll close to the hoop misses. Zman hasn't been help on the o side of the ball.
They knew we were a live by die by the 3 so once they got close they went inside and we missed s few threes and close in shots.

Wow, what a pathetic pity party. Is this the thread that bandwagon fans hang out at. I hear people talk about the Blazers have the best fans. It definitely doesn't show in thia thread.

Pretty sad.
I agree. I'm as frustrated as anyone else. But i don't get the "blow this team up" thing.

Btw- wouldn’t it be nice if we could blow out a team?? I’m sick of these close games.

Green/Looney/Poole for CJ, Simon's, and a 1st

I don't like Green's personality either. He is the kind of guy you hate if he is not on your team. But, if we have to go to the darkside to win, we go to the darkside. Nice guys finish last.
Yeah do that make some other moves... I wouldn't love it but if we had some depth Dame/Nurk/Draymond/Gary core would be pretty damn scary for the rest of the league. Bring back Ariza, bring Zach off the bench. See what happens with Hood. Get a legit backup PG with the MLE. Rotation of Dame, Gary, Ariza, Draymond, Nurk, MLE PG, Zach, healthy Hood and maybe if Nas and Wenyen could give us some good minutes we would be a legit contender next year.

I wonder how many fan bases attack the folks who want the team to improve and succeed?

Pretty sad. :rolleyes2:

I think the bubble is going to effect players mental focus, as time goes on.

George admitted clippers practically gave us the game and we didn’t know what to do with it lol

and who doesn't want to the team to succeed and improve? Your post makes no sense and not even relevant to what I posted. I saw several posters ready to quit on the team and giving up. Thankfully the players don't have that attitude.

What's to get? During the run to the WCF, the Blazers were playing well as a team. There was a definite sense that the whole (while flawed) was playing greater than the sum of the parts. This season has had the opposite feel. Even when they win, it seems to be a product of individuals (usually Dame) playing really well, but with indifferent support. The pieces don't seem to fit together right.

When the roster is dysfuntional, the only solution is to change the roster.

we had four different guys score 2o or more points today, with some great cutting and passing.
I don't agree with your premise.
Ive seen great team ball overall compared to years past.

I know I'm not off the bandwagon. Before the Clippers were sitting everyone, I had this down as a loss anyway and still thought we'd make the playoffs. So we should still make the playoffs but that's not enough for me. CJ is a bad fit on this team and I have been saying that for four or five years now. The guy is an amazing scoring guard with the ball in his hands which is completely redundant when paired with Dame. Then there is the fact that he is an absolutely terrible defender which Dame isn't a good enough defender to make up for. So, especially with the emergence of Gary Trent Jr. you really need to trade CJ and try to get a three and D SF who is at CJ's talent level or maybe just a little worse if you can save some money. We might also want to get Dame an actual backup at PG. If we do those things and get one other role playing front court player this team will be moving forward in the direction of a championship and that's all I want. I'm not fickle, I'm actually really consistent with my fandom.

Hey, I hate losses as much as the next guy, but that will never change my support for the team and rooting them on. It's pretty disgusting how some of these posters respond to a defeat. To me, being a fan for a team is like a marriage vow, for better or for worse.

4 guys scored 80+ points - and we still lost to a team that was only half trying. What does that say about the rest of the roster?
