The Nets bringing doubles to Lillard before he even crosses half court is something I have NEVER seen. Even the gimmick defenses on Harden wait until he's crossed half court. The full anti-denial on Lillard is the craziest respect move against a player that has ever happened in the history of the NBA.

Yeah, it is fucking ridiculous

Imagine watching this as a suns fan. Blazers gotta bench collins though. Hes like Meyers without a jumper
He was bad, but I bet he'd have been better than Anthony down the stretch. He was useless.

Would Whiteside stick around as a backup at a discount? Or is that insane? Who will pay him?

With Ariza playing Mario’s minutes we would have an actual chance imo.

IMO, the best lineup at the end of the game would be Dame/Gary/Ariza/Melo/Nurk. But that would never happen.

If we win we stay in 8th and advance. If Mem wins two they will be 8th and advance to the playoffs.

Yeah, I understand the format.

For something to be "regular season", it would be a game that was scheduled to begin with. How many teams have played a regular season game that was not on the schedule to start the season (or the bubble in this case).

That's just my opinion. If there is an official definition, I'll stand corrected. These are abnormal times!

From all I've heard, he think's he's a top 5-10 big guy in the league. If no team wants to give him a starting job, then maybe, but it would be a one year deal I'm guessing.

Right. I hear you. It is a weird twighlight zone grey area I guess. Its not quite regular season and it's not postseason because we are playing for a chance at a postseason

Props to the refs tonight, by the way. They swallowed their whistles and let the players decide the final outcome. No controversial calls in this game. Temple maybe should've been called for a flagrant for hitting Dame's face but that was it.

Love your opinion, very valid points for sure! I'm glad we have a reason to even talk about it!

There were refs?

I don't think they ever were.

The only thing about Portland that should worry the Lakers is that they're probably going to deploy a strategy of doubling Dame and leaving others wide open. Can't think of a time where a #1 seed had to deploy a strategy of leaving decent NBA players wide open. Usually the #1 seed is just so much better they don't have to get cute.

that may be.

The thing is, I'd wonder if the Lakers have the perimeter players to blanket Dame. Both Rondo and Bradley are out the last I heard, and Caldwell-Pope has a bum ankle, or at least he did. The do have Danny Green and he used to be a good defender with some length. And of course they could always hedge Lebron toward Dame and dare Melo to beat them. Maybe between KCP, Green, Caruso, and Waiters they can harass Dame enough to make it the same puzzle for the Blazers they've faced every year in the playoffs for the last 5 years

HUGE props to CJ. Came up big in Denver. Came up big tonight. While injured. Game clinching shot and game clinching defense.

you're ignoring the 378 points various Nets score while being guarded by CJ

Don't you think Luke took that exact system to Sacramento? Pretty sure he did.

That same system won 15 games this year.

Talent is a big part of things.
Absolutely not the same system and what you say is pure conjecture. I’ve watched many Kings telecasts and don’t see anywhere near the same type of offence being run. Walton does like pace, but he doesn’t run the Cyclone offence the Warriors ran.
