this makes me worry that Olshey won a power struggle with McGowan
or it could be that McGowan is the fall-guy for the Root Sports fiasco

Exactly, he looks complicit.Supposedly Hankins was the architect of the Roots Sports deal. And I wouldn’t worry about an Olshey power struggle…my guess is Chris got implicated or it’s gonna look and as President he let this go for 10 years.
Bring back Trader Bob.im referring to the lack of an aggressive move like what MIL did when they got Holiday. High risk high reward. Neil has been historically very conservative, and that's been my biggest criticism of him.
After interviewing employees at the practice facility late last week, O’Melveny & Myers — the firm enlisted to investigate the claims — extended its investigation to interviewing individuals outside of personnel at the practice facility, including former and current employees, sources said.
That process was expected to last a few weeks before a ruling on Olshey's future.
they're really going to drag this along, aren't they? the outcome is all but known, why prolong it?
this is what haynes said.
Is that supposed to be a criticism of Neil? Cuz if anything, i wish he was more aggressive in using picks for difference makers. He was too protective of them until the Roco trade
if they find even a few people alleging misconduct and find it to be true, what reason is there to prolong the inevitable? It then becomes a question of if they deem whatever they found to be grounds for firing. Slippery slope from there from the PR perspective.Due diligence?
We haven't heard a peep from Olshey, he is most likely on administrative leave during this. I think there could be more jobs on the line in the front office and when Vulcan announces, they might want to get all of the toxicity out of the organization.if they find even a few people alleging misconduct and find it to be true, what reason is there to prolong the inevitable? Comes back to my underlying question about the motive for the investigation. If it's simply to improve the workplace environment, he should be gone asap. If it's to protect themselves from having to pay out his contract and potential litigation against wrongful termination, then I can see them taking longer. Then it appears the whole reason for this was strictly financial, which might be another PR hit considering they just ate the Stotts contract.
ya i was curious if olshey was still working during the investigation. We haven't heard a peep from Olshey, he is most likely on administrative leave during this. getting tired of refreshing twitter for olshey news. It's 4pm on the east coast, all the daily sports shows are done. The friday afternoon news dump shoulda happened now.
oh well.
If you're referring to one of these thingsOroborus?
You can, and you will!Come on, I can't be teased like this. Make the announcement already!
It can't be Nance. The guy is hustling all over the place. Seems to have a great attitude. My other guess would be Larry Nance. He hasn't exactly been great for us.
Probably Roco though.

I would have to say that Vulcan will not be looking at Vulcan, they'll just be looking to root out any PR problems with the Blazers organization. McGowan leaving, even if it is just a coincidence, definitely helps insulate Vulcan even if they do have their own problems.
Maybe he'll survive it... ugh.Haynes says some players were interviewed as well as part of the investigation and that Neil has been at the PF daily since the investigation started
If they find enough evidence they could fire him...if they really dont find enough, they could still fire him.It takes a special kind of arogance to fight for a job where nobody wants you.
