What has Brent Barry done recently to gain him the following he seems to have on here?

Possible he's here scouting. Possible he's talking about the president job or other potential openings. Or on a standard November vacation to Portland.

Truthfully, I think it's the same reason why people like Danny Ainge, and some fans obsess over Marcus Mariota and Justin Herbert.

He went to a school in Oregon.
 
it would be really awkward if they were truly interviewing and showing candidates around before they officially fire the previous guy.

then again, this ownership group seems naiive enough to do such things.

Neil is still at the PF and continuing to operate the basketball side of the franchise right now. Unsure if he's conducting any active trade talks but he's been still speaking with Billups on bball things.

i appreciate him seeking confirmation from multiple sources rather than trying to be *first* on a story. You would never confuse Quick as one having tact and not teasing in these impromptu interviews but I trust him more than others.

I wonder if it's they haven't found anything that would justify firing with cause and terminating the contract? That always seemed like a stretch even though it fits well under tin-foil

if they truly wanted reasons to fire Olshey, there are plenty. But they wouldn't even need reasons if they wanted him gone. Which unfortunately could explain why he's still there
 
Brent Barry not only went to OSU and played for the Sonics....he's a smart guy who's been coached by the best in the biz....he's working in the Spurs front office now I believe and if Pop trusts him to be an assistant GM, I'm sure there's a reason....I also like him because he's young and knows the modern game ....we have a rookie coach....pair him with a Brent Barry and we're no longer a cloak and dagger front office. I'd give him a shot...he also was interviewed this summer...I hope he's the guy and not Ainge

Yeah, he's been accomplishing the goals they set for him, imo, and thats why he's been here to date.
 
The Blazers are not going to fabricate any investigations to nullify any terms of a contact. That would be an extremely bad look, especially if others in the NBA were to find out. I highly doubt that is the case.

It's interesting that J.Quick is reporting that they haven't found anything thus far.
