Shams: Olshey being investigated for workplace misconduct

I don’t think so. Unless Jody is an actual evil person, she’s not going to not only fire him, but send him, his kids (and wife) out of town ruining their fathers reputation and likely NBA career by making up this type of excuse.
I don't think anyone thinks this is being made up; simply that none of this is news to the org. They looked past his behavior for years, and now they're allowing it to be used as justification for his ouster.

I don’t think they’re making it up. I think they have been turning a blind eye and now they’re using it to get rid of him.

Exactly what I said, in half a many words. As though you're a writer or something...

there's literally nothing in the article outside of the headline. kinda sleazy to drop this like a bomb with no substance whatsoever. wonder if Morey leaked it.

i don't really give a damn if neil stays or goes-- just concerned of what this does to Dame and his willingness to want to remain here.

Come on man if Dame leaves so be it. He’s clearly not the same anymore. Still a blazer legend but time to begin a new era

But why do they need this as justification? If they wanted to fire him, they just fire him. And if they have been turning a blind eye to this for years, they would be in HUGE trouble as an employer.

I think Neil stepped it up when Paul died and Jody is a shit owner.

Guilty until proven innocent, the world we live in these days.

Good chance nothing becomes of this, if they can’t find any real evidence. Bullying? Meanwhile if you guys didn’t know, there is a way bigger story right now in the NBA about a owner who is getting accused of racism and other things, this could very well be a non story soon if nothing is found.

and I know that will bother some guys. The front office will then get bashed for covering this up and blah blah.

if evidence comes out, and it’s justified in firing him then I’m all for that. Until then, we should see what they find.

Jason quick and Canzono should also get shown the boot while we are at it!

“Hopefully this is finally the end for this piece of shit.”

Not only is Neil an atrocious GM - he’s hell to work for as well.

I think most in here are aware of the Sarver situation and that it is different than this one. I don't think anyone thinks Olshey should be fired (for cause) until the findings of the investigation come out. That being said, just because Sarver's alleged actions are more egregious doesn't mean that Vulcan has to accept bullying, intimidation and other forms of abusive behavior in one of their places of business.

Which employee?

The hilarious thing to me in this thread is you still have people trying to defend this guy.

Ofcourse not, but the bullying, intimidation and other forms of abusive behavior needs to be proven first. I guess we will find out soon one way or the other.

And if so to what extent. One worker might say Neil was looking at him with anger and giving him a bad eye, another worker might take that as “he was staring at me like he wanted to hurt me and I was shaking in my boots. He was intimating me!”
we both know there is lots of those types of people these days, and Jason Quick and John Canzano are two reporters who I do not trust as well.

I’m not passing judgment until they do their investigation.

I'm curious how you think these things will be "proven"...do you think there will be a trial?

sure looks like it's several past and current employees making allegations, and the allegations are similar

so what would put it over the threshold for you? 2 employees saying these things? 3 employees? 7?

Evidence, texts, emails, videos

or it’s just he said, she said.

On the flip, isn’t it extreme to also fire someone with no evidence?

LOL..."videos".....c'mon man...you have to know it won't be like that. Sure seems you're implying that it wouldn't matter if it was 25 people making similar allegations, you'll still be on Olshey's side

and by the way, 'testimony' is evidence

I'm sure the Blazers have a Human Relations dept....workplace offenses often require that the person attend counseling and don't get fired after one offense...if it's a different situation I don't understand how it could go on for multiple years without intervention. I expect Neil to be fired but they need more than break room gossip to get off with not paying him off before his contract is up

Yep. If it somehow came out that Olshey was innocent we all would be happy about that. Most of us would still want him gone because we need to move on. Olshey has been content with mediocrity for too long.

I get the feeling some of these people would stick up for Olshey no matter what he did.

You lol at videos, but then there is texts and emails. How did Donald Sterling get caught? How did John Gruden get caught? Thats exactly how. You don’t think if he did do this for 10 years there isn’t one text or email of him being a bully?

Just make sure the ones that hate Neil front office moves over the years don’t get cloudy by allegations, until proven true. last I remember there has to be some form of evidence right? or anyone or an group of people can always falsely accuse someone without proof, that’s not the world we live in but sadly it’s becoming that way slowly these days it seems.

Olshey has never been popular around here...don't know where you come up with that take at all....I expect him to be fired and would be hard pressed to find an S2 member who actually ever liked the guy.

Who cares. Fuck the guy. He should have been fired years ago.
