Classy.

Go be a Sixers fan. Nobody will care.

Even classier, but as much as I appreciate you caring (or not caring), I don't come here for your validation. The argument is whether tanking is better than just stagnating with a roster and getting knocked out by much better teams. You can disagree if you like, but I'm not sure why you feel the need to put people down. I think that says a lot about you as a person.

The Sixers openly tanked, they drafted Embiid, Simmons, Fultz, and Saric. They're set. They have not one, but quite possibly three generational talents in Embiid, Simmons, and Fultz. Their future is infinitely more bright than ours.
Philly has a fan forum....I like the Blazers much better myself

Should we get rid of Terry? Hmmm. Anybody know a generational coaching talent (ala Pops) that would take the job?

tanking is never better for a player, coach or fanbase....you might want to stop thinking of basketball responses as arguments to start with.....people disagree with me often here but I don't see that as argument.....I just think your take on the Blazers is very, very condescending to a team that in a loaded west...made the 3rd seed and beat the best getting there.....those "superior" teams......one of them we swept

I thought you hardcore bleeding heart liberals were supposed to be progressive and inclusive. You want to gatekeep people because they disagree with you?

I'm open to the idea of keeping Stotts as coach depending on the success we have in the playoffs. However, I'm also open to other options besides the current regime.

So, what would you do, Nate? Get rid of Stotts and Olshey? Trade a few players? I am actually interested hearing or reading what you have to say.

no.....not at all....but your posts shout out that we're the worst team in the NBA.....expect fans to take exception...if I loved Philly's direction and roster, I'd probably cheer for them and join their forum...I don't though....and what bleeding heart liberals are you talking about? That's just baiting....I think you want the argument ...I don't know what gatekeeping people is but I've certainly never done that...I have seen plenty of fair weather fans lurk around here over the years though....tanking in my view is never an option

Jus stating my opinion. By the way tanking is a losers mentality.

For the record, I don’t think you can get rid of Stotts before you give him the roster he needs. With that being said, is Ime Udoka ever going to get a gig? Seems like he’s been Pops right hand man for 5 years plus.

I would replace Terry and trade CJ, preferably for an All-Star wing. That would be the start. Dame is such a huge part of this team and this city. I think we could try switching it up and see if we get different results.

But the people who want to tear it down and start over, I can understand that argument as well. If that were the case, I'd stick with Neil. He seems to be pretty good at drafting.

The only coach I expect to be available who is as good as Stotts is David Fizdale and I don’t necessarily think he’s a great fit for this roster.

Are you making fun of my senior citizen status? j/k

Yep, I'm crazy, crazy about my wife.

As for the song, I remember songs much older than that.
I'm just a 64 year old pup but love me some Patsy....Iowa dairy farm upbringing and all....My mother was a big band jazz singer in her youth and my uncles were bluegrass musicians at the Oprey.....I know some old music

This is his last chance. If he loses this series, he has to go. Nice guy and good coach, but if Pelicans win the series Allen will have to face the fact that the job simply is not getting done, and let him move on. Shouldn’t have kept him this long. When so many players start making excuses for him, it’s time to go.

Does his contract expire this year? If so, yes.

I have not read players defending him. Typically, they refer their losses as a team or individual play as prime reasons.

Jay Wright?
Jay Wright appears to prefer the college atmosphere, the beauty of the Philly suburbs and good really good cheese steaks. Once you are a hero in Philly, it's hard to leave.
If he was a loser, then their diabolical fans/sport writers emerge. He does not have a John Calipari outlook. IMO
Perhaps Calipari would be another choice? What is you opinion?

Question is, do we think our team is comfortably better than New Orleans personnel wise, so much that it would be outrageous to lose against them? Somehow I am not so sure.

I grew up listening to Glenn Miller at the Lake theater during intermissions in Oswego, Oregon. That was post WWII by several years. Yeah, Lake Oswego was once known as Oswego.

We're worse than the Magic or Kings. We're a treadmill team. We knocked out the Clippers after they lost Chris Paul and Blake Griffin... and it wasn't an easy out either. We knocked the Rockets out when we had a much better roster, and it still went six games. But Stotts has been here for six years man. What do we have to show for it?

Playoffs almost every year. I, as a fan. Like that.
Not everyone has a ricky bobby philosophy about competition

Can you tell me exactly when his first chance was? As opposed to his "Last Chance"?

Without Cousins? Yes

Well I think we are on similar level. Davis and Lillard are both superstars but Davis edges it IMO, he's a generational talent. CJ and Holiday are closer than you might think, Holiday has been great this season so far and plays much better defence for sure. After that both rosters have one player who can be either great or average depending on the game (Mirotic v Nurkic) although ours plays on a higher level, and a bunch of mid-tier talent that can have their nights but there's generally not that much between them. We definitely have more depth but S5 are of similar quality.

They also have the advantage that Rondo and Holiday can guard our best players (Dame and CJ) but we don't really have anybody that can truly guard their superstar.

It should be close, and it will be close.

The only question for me is whether tlongII should be fired from this board for starting this thread if the Blazers win this series.
