He'll go back home to Oakland now since he can play alongside his friend Jimmy there.
? it is widely known that dame wanted to go to miami for 1) bam, 2) get away from portland during a messy divorce. his desire to go to miami had very little to do with jimmy

Shams just said Dame is gonna rehab in PDX.

Gotta think that makes Dame acknowledge grass isn't always greener. The way Shams puts it, just wasn't as good of a fit as people though.

Yep. Has me thinking.

He might not want to be that far from his kids again. Its been two years since the divorce. Probably not as fresh and chaotic.

little to do with Jimmy? LMAO

IF Jimmy wasnt there, wouldn’t have even been a consideration to play in Miami

Now here is a question to ponder. What if Dame would resign but his demand was to fire Joe because he doesn't want to be back if he is still here.

Who would the fanbase that applauds all decisions we make side with?
Probably whatever action the Blazers do.

Come on bruh….. seriously?

Would you take Joe Dumars right now?
While I'm not a fan of many of Cronin's moves - its also hard to know where Cronin decisions ended and Kolde/Vulcan/Jody began. Certainly possible many of the dumbest moves were from other decision makers.

So in that possible case changing GM's would be somewhat irrelevant, and sticking with the same GM once we get new owners might have a massive improvement.

So this is Cronin's comp? Dumars and Harrison?

Low bar.
Your the one who said "likely the worst GM in the league"

That's clearly not the case.

Now is he a good, average, or bad GM? Totally different metrics. Some decent arguments to put him in any of those 3 buckets.

So out of all the players involved in the initial trade:

Dame - Cut
Ayton - Cut
Nurk - Traded twice
Little - Cut
Keon - Cut
Allen - Still with Suns (and extended)
Holiday - Back with Portland (and extended with Celts)
Camara - Best of the bunch...

You add getting Dame back on a min salary snd we made out like bandits!!! Lol

Low bar.

You said "likely the worst GM in the league" and I find that absurd.

You set the bar and I was merely pointing out that there are FAR worse GMs in the league. Joe is mid.

Fischer is suggesting Portland as a Dame possibility as well.

I will say, Deni and Toumani are EXACTLY the kind of players he needed to play next to in his prime. He now has a choice to pick his next destination. Having Dame on a relatively cheap contract in 26-27 would be HUGE, whether we keep Scoot/Jrue or not.

You should let people know this is an opinion piece because we live in a world where people dont do research, and its clearly evident in current affairs.
Does Bobobrewski work for the Oregonian?

If not - why should he have to do anything.

Articulated well and yes right on point.

Dame here would just get in the way of Jrue/Scoot and others.

I also expect Dame will want an opportunity to prove he can be a starting level PG again. Best he tries that elsewhere without all the baggage on his and the Blazers sides.

Saying get in the way of Jrue is wild when that MF doesn't even want to be here. Ship him TF out if you ask me. I'd MUCH rather have Dame back.

People like Dame have a hard time accepting or even realizing they are not the same anymore. You see many boxers fight well into their 40s. Can't blame them but my guess is Dame rehabs this year w/o a team and try to get one last non-minimum deal next summer. He will retire a Blazers but now is not the time
