A lot of ifs here, but all things being equal, I'd rather have a solid defensive 2/3 and Harris than CJ and Roco.

That might be best for us anyway. I think Morey holding Simmons till at least the draft gives us more time to focus on other things. I really want Simmons, but I am not taking Harris with Simmons.it honestly just sounds like no reporter knows what's actually going on and are just speculating/regurgitating information. I certainly wouldnt listen to a thing Windhorst says.
I would be surprised if Simmons was traded though. What is Morey gonna find in the next couple weeks he couldn't in the last couple of months? May as well keep him until the summer when teams will be more open to gutting their rosters/making drastic changes.
Harris' deal is worse than CJ, IMHO.
ok, they are equally awful contracts!Harris is better on defense, offers rebounding, and doesn't ball stop nearly as much.
I still would not take Harris’ deal. I can see teams like the Knicks or maybe even Atlanta attaching picks or a young guy to get CJ. It’s hard for me to imagine any team giving anything up for Harris. How much would we have to attach to Harris to get rid of him? But I’ve always been down on him since his Orlando days, so maybe it’s just a personal bias against him lol.Harris is better on defense, offers rebounding, and doesn't ball stop nearly as much.
Philly hasn’t won a title but they most assuredly have been a contender when healthy. They had the #1 seed last year.Morey can go fuck himself if he expects to trade both of those guys as a package. That's over 67M in salary and 72M/year in future salary. And that's for 2 players who didn't make Philly a contender
pretty obvious he's getting desperate. Simmons (and his agent) has found a way to collect his salary and not play. morey wasn't getting all-stars offered for Simmons so he's pivoting to try a major reset and using Simmons to dump an albatross contract. I can't believe any team would trade for those two contracts
for damn sure the Blazers shouldn't

Morey is just weird. Nobody jumping at Ben Simmons so he sweetens to pot with…Tobias Harris and his awful contract?
Why do people want a player that can't shoot? It makes no sense.
Because he's arguably the best defensive player in the league? A 3 time all-star at the age of 25 and still has 3 years on his contract after this season?
You still don't understand?
No way.Just read that the Nets are targeting Simmons for Harden in the offseason..don't know how Simmons can keep paying fines until then but Morey would be dumb to pass that up
What have the players we would be trading won?I still don't. The dude has never won shit. His LSU team didn't even make it into March Madness.
What have the players we would be trading won?
Simmons fill a massive hole this team has had for years. At some point. It is time to try something else.
No way.
Supposedly they were offered Simmons for Kyrie and KD told them not to do it.
If they won't trade Kyrie for Simmons. No chance they want to move Harden for Simmons.
Depends on what we give up for him. If it is CJ, Ant and his scoring seems like it could pick up some of what is gone from CJ.He'll fill one and create another.
Harden was traded because OKC couldn't afford everyone.
we don't know what they'll do by a long stretch but Harden for Simmons is going to cancel out any CJ combo trade for him so that's as far as my interest..... Harden was traded away from a KD OKC team without issue.... KD is not the most loyal teammate around... ask Draymond Green
doesn't matter why....KDs reaction to his leaving was ...."no big deal" ..I expect the same reaction if he's traded again....KD probably would rather play with Ben Simmons than Harden....who knows?Harden was traded because OKC couldn't afford everyone.
I like Tobias Harris' contract even less than CJ's.....I wouldn't do that trade by any stretch seeing us gut our front court to achieve it. Basically giving up our 3 best defenders and 2nd best scorer for Harris and Simmons sounds like a loss given how Simmons can't shoot. Nurk isn't backing up Embiid and Drummond either.....Charlotte needs a big, not Philly so muchCall me crazy but if the demand is just to take Tobias with Ben in order to get Ben, I would do it. The Bulls get a piece that makes them even better than they currently are so they should be willing to give up a pick that has to land after the 14th for that. If we didn't make another move then we would start Ant, Norm, Nas, Harris and Simmons with Shake, Ben, Tony and Cody off the bench. I think we would probably want to make another trade but maybe we'd be good with this.
Full disclosure I like Harris's game, I think he's a decent defender at the 4... far better than any of our guards are at their positions and obviously he's a really gifted scorer. I do not think what he brings to the table is worth 36, 37 or 39M which is what he'll be getting during this season and the next two but he's definitely a good player to have on the court if you disregard his salary.

Harden is a better player than Kyrie though. That's why it makes zero sense. If KD said no to Kyrie, who wasn't even playing at the time, for Simmons...why would he just be like ok you can have a better player now for him.doesn't matter why....KDs reaction to his leaving was ...."no big deal" ..I expect the same reaction if he's traded again....KD probably would rather play with Ben Simmons than Harden....who knows?
My first guess would be available cap money...second would be alpha male aspirations...but really who the fuck knows? I just know KD isn't a poster boy for franchise loyalty and who leaves the Warriors after winning championships with them to go have "your own team"....my guess....KD.Harden is a better player than Kyrie though. That's why it makes zero sense. If KD said no to Kyrie, who wasn't even playing at the time, for Simmons...why would he just be like ok you can have a better player now for him.
I like this but since Jody Allen is gonna be in financial hell no matter what, why send away Nance? I don't know why but all the trade machines allow me to trade out 55 million and take in 69 million. We will need Nance with Nurk gone.Call me crazy but if the demand is just to take Tobias with Ben in order to get Ben, I would do it. The Bulls get a piece that makes them even better than they currently are so they should be willing to give up a pick that has to land after the 14th for that. While I was the one that proposed the deal the financials might be something that would logically keep the team from doing it. We would not dodge the tax this season. We would have ~114M committed to three players. We would still have 8 players under contract for around 140M and I think the luxury tax will start at 145M. Then there's re-signing Ant that we'll be lucky to get done at around 15M. So I think that as far as talent and fit, the trade does make sense but financially it might put us in a hard place.I'm still on the fence about Simmons, but if you are a guy who thinks he will be great for us and you can make a deal where you can send out only CJ and expirings and get him PLUS an upgrade at PF, then it's really only the financials that are holding you back, right?
Yeah, if that could get the deal done with the Sixers I'd be all for it. That does mean that we'd be over the luxury tax before even re-signing Ant next season. If we did re-sign Ant for 15M in the first year of the contract, we would start the season with Dame, Norm, Nas, Harris, Simmons, Ant, Larry and GB3 under contract for around 162M plus 14M more for minimum salary guys and we'd be 31M into the tax.I like this but since Jody Allen is gonna be in financial hell no matter what, why send away Nance? I don't know why but all the trade machines allow me to trade out 55 million and take in 69 million. We will need Nance with Nurk gone.
