My post was about taking a "negative" word, turning it around, and owning some of the positive traits about that word (like speaking up for yourself). No, I'm not saying it in jest to my friend either and I don't equate it to some guy screaming in traffic at all. If a word is used to demean someone else it's demeaning... the word boy is not demeaning in and of itself, but it can be used to demean someone. You can use the word bitch all you want if you're talking about a female dog, it's not a bad word per se, but why would you (as a man) call another person (male or female) that name? What does that word mean to you when you use it that way? In my experience if someone has called me a bitch it's because I've spoken up for myself or rejected sexual attention I didn't want... if that's being a bitch I will own it.
