So NOW do you understand what I'm talking about??? We are a better team this year.

Yeah it was a headscratcher why Kaman even started tonight. You roll with Davis everytime. Plus that end game defensive lineup is why we lost. No big man in site to rebound for us which allows ZBo to win it.

You have to make the tank look real, not like the 76ers and their obvious tank.

Philly will AGAIN be the worst.
Brooklyn won't be much better.
New Orleans should get better, right?
Lakers may not get much better at this rate.
Sacramento should start to win a few games.
Washington will certainly get better.
Right now Portland is at #7 in the Lottery race. That is still outside of where you need to be where probably you need to be Top-5 to get an impact player.

With Davis and Plumlee on the floor we have 2 PFs who can't score outside of 3 feet. Kaman made our offense run more smoothly and it saved Davis for the bench when Plumlee needed a rest.

Of course Kaman balances the floor better but his playing time takes it away from those who will be here next year and beyond. Vonleh got 6 minutes....ridiculous. He needs times to develop. Of course he is not as good now but he will get better and is part of the future, not Kaman. Stotts is playing for wins now in a season where they won't matter. Better to focus on the bigger picture.

Is he...doesn't look like it

The results don't show it but if he were playing for the future instead of now, he wouldn't be playing Vonleh 6 minutes when Leonard is already out. Instead he plays the oldest guy on the team who won't be here past this season.

Why don't you put money where your mouth is and place a bet on it then? If the Blazers match or exceed last year team's total wins, I'll give you $500. If they don't, you'd only lose $100.

Betting on the Blazers winning at least a third of their games by the All-Stars Break isn't really being a "positive fan" and believing in them, is it? :devilwink:
I've said we won't necessarily win as many because of many variables but we are definitely better than last year's team couldn't even play at .500 for most of this. The reason I made the bet I did is because HCP said we'd only win 20 games so I said 20 by the All Star break. Easy money for me.

Wait a minute! Jinx you said we'd win like 50 games and make the playoffs. I swear!

This team is better this year indeed... better positioned for 3 years from now than they were last season.... Better this season than the team was last season, Ohh hells nah.

Philly, Brooklyn and the Lakers look terrible of those teams but I could certainly see the others passing us in the standings.

Vonleh has been bad. Memphis is a unique matchup so let's see what the rotation looks like over the rest of the trip.

I'd rather see young players earn minutes. Crabbe and Harkless are doing so Vonleh not as much.

I love you JinxSpeed even though you've been pretty hard on me this past month. I just want to make sure you don't forget your prediction. Seems like your memory is getting kinda' cloudy already.

This is hands down the most retarded thread I have seen in here in a long time... like serious retarded, not comparing to mentally handicapped people, using the term to describe a neuro-typical person how doesn't use brain at full logical capacity. I'm having a hard time processing how stupid people's knee jerk reaction to a rebuilding season are. Stotts is easily a top 10 caliber coach in this league. 1st I want to point out that Frazier simply isn't good. He's not a long term keeper as we build this team, and for those of you who were butt hurt about it, he is still better than Pressey. In the case of Alexander he still might not be 100% and he probably just started full practices. Regardless of the why's, firing him because of his rotation last night... wow.

People need to use actual logic if they are going to post things about firing people or trading players. You shouldn't do either unless there is a feasible solution that actually makes sense.

Ooops, quoted the wrong post in the wrong thread.....Or did I?

Top to bottom, this roster has more overall talent than we've seen since the Roy days. We actually have a bench that scores 25-30 points a night. We just don't have Aldridge anymore. Losing Wes and Nic really doesn't hurt that much, at least not offensively. CJ is scoring as much, or more, than Wes ever did. Losing Aldridge hurts the most because it allows teams to double Dame.

QFT! Which begs the question: since it's obvious that we need a low post threat that can command a double team, who is that person? Who is that player that we need in the post? Another question is do we feel that any of our current roster can develop into that person? Thoughts?

We don't really have one although the closest may be Vonleh. Obviously he is very raw, needs court time and doesn't have his NBA legs under him yet but he has the bulk, strength and ability to use either hand around the basket along with the threat of stepping out on a big.

I can't state enough how garbage Vonleh is. For some reason people think just because he's 20 it assures he's going to be a stud. He does nothing, not even a glimmer of hope on what people see in him. I would love to trade him for a 2nd rounder if he's even that valuable

Strangely enough, I have the exact same opinion about your posts. :dunno:

This is a kid who has played a GRAND TOTAL of 381 minutes in his career....that isn't even 8 full games. He has skills and though it may be a while before they translate, to call somoene garbage with that small of a sample size that early when he showed unique skills in college as a Freshman against much older players seems quite short sighted.

The player we'll get in the draft will be worse than Kwame Brown.
If we're lucky then he's gonna be a good as Slava Medvedenko.
