So why don't we have some sort of a podcast?

Welcome to our community

Here is an expansion of how I would set up for a podcast. Topics are fluid and change weekly, and the hosts are simply chosen by choosing a couple of the first responders in this thread, but all names and topics could easily change.

Host 1: Strenuus
Host 2: BrianfromWA.

Guest: HCP

Podcast starts to theme created by handclapproblematic or some other poster.(15seconds)

Introductions and pleasantries from Brian and Strenuus (1minute)

Topic 1 - Recent Blazer Game discussion (playing time, wins/losses, coaching decisions,) Also, the weeks MVP and kiddie-watch.(10 to 15 minutes)
Topic 2 - Around the NBA with an eye on how these issues affect the Blazers. (Hot/cold teams, players on the Block, trends, West vs East, etc.....)(10 -15 min)

Guest - HCP ( Choose one or two topics to discuss. Examples for HCP might be Travel Stories and His take on Stotts new Defensive scheme.) (10-15 min)

Topic 3 - A look ahead for the Blazers/ (predictions, things to look for, trade or other deadlines, etc...) (5-10 minutes)

Outro - say bye, perhaps mention a topic or two on S2 to promote.

Some music again, by poster.

I think this is very repeatable, if it becomes popular it could easily be adjusted for twice a week. Total time is less than an hour.

To take that further (no pun intended), I think a live podcast blog would be cool, to get the pulse of what people are reacting to.

Also, we could read comments from posters as well, and respond accordingly (and within reason).

This being Portland I think a potcast would be more accurate.

OK then, topic 4 - which weed strains would be best matched to each player? (Example: Lillard would certainly feel looser taking it hard to the inside on Blueberry Yum Yum Whereas Aldridge needs the aggressive flavors of Mango Kush.)

Is there a reason the audio files can't be uploaded as attachments to posts here?

I WANT IN BITCHES

I can do uhhhh a poster? Also music. Also I can be a totally underinformed homer fan, I don't think there's enough of those.

I assume when it happens there will be a sticky for exactly that, a weekly thread for topic suggestions and a weekly thread to say how the hosts were complete idiots and got everything wrong.

I certainly think tying the podcast into this board makes a lot of sense for both parties involved.

wait can I represent the OT section? like, once a show there's five minutes where I argue my stoney idealistic political views with someone and then HCP comes in and calls us both nerds

Ill throw myself in the list if a behind the scenes guy is needed, although I have no background in it.

I think we just need to get a drop from you saying it's Bush's fault and a drop from MM saying it's Obama's fault.

NO but seriously, whoever is putting this on, I can provide various non-sexual services: graphic design, music production, content creation and organization, voice acting?

At this point it's more like MM saying "it's Bush's fault" and me saying "ITS THE SYSTEM MAN" and then the sound of a hundred people vomiting in unison

There could be a special reports on rookie news or Blazer swagger. Just a 2 minute bit of awesome.

We need a hotline so posters can participate via cell phone if necessary...

Maybe we should make a list of candidates that want to host (I have no experience in hosting, but I'd love to do it and I can jabber.) And then do test runs to see which would be the most compatible, etc.

I throw my name in the hat for hosting or any speaking aspect, it's just the theater kid in me. :)

The best podcast would be a short 3-5 minute blazers feed of rumors, trade talk, etc. Maybe 10 minutes.

Basically have a recap and shit every game, summarize content on the board, etc.

Listening to SPD for an hour talking about strip clubs in Portland is what this will eventual denigrate into if you want to do a talk show with inside jokes, blah blah blah.

You guys need to get Eric to do a segment titled "No Bones about it" or something to that effect. He could talk about what it is like to attend games in all of the different NBA cities, hell, he has been to most of them. I think you would all benefit from his camera time

I think we should record this in a strip club.

Why not do it through Google Hangouts or Skype? I think Google hangouts are easy to record, and can just be exported as audio

All the recent podcasts I've done have been through Skype. For quality purposes, I have each member record themselves on their computer, then send the files to me via dropbox, where I take them and mix them in Audacity and host the file on my FTP for iTunes to find. The quality ends up really great when everyone has decent equipment.

Look up Let's All Really Geek Out on iTunes; that's the last podcast I did.

Alright, I nominate BlazerCaravan to be involved in this project in some capacity, be it as host/producer, or just as a producer, or producer/commentator. Even as producer/dancer.

Hey BlazerCaravan do you have that voice altering software to make me sound like Barry White?

This sounds great but is it more hassle than it's worth? Is it easy to record yourself in Skype? Seems like it would be easiest for one person to just record the mixed stream, but I'm definitely one that doesn't mind doing things the right way.
