I've watched Pittman a couple of times, the guy is pretty good. Epke Udoh is also a forward-center that I really like, but he's starting to climb up into the late lottery range of the draft.

I'll check him out. I think you are missing a point though. We are looking for a physical player to play with Aldridge, not replace him. We are looking for our "Brian Grant" that went with Rasheed Wallace.

I don't know, but Sanders sounds like he'd fit in nicely next to the uber-soft LMA:

Pittman is a beast. With the experience that he'll surely receive this season, and with our luck with Longhorns, this may be a very good fit. Texas' offensive pace is one of the highest in the country. I wonder if that makes him less of a fit?

FSU hasn't produced a decent big man since, since, Cowens, so I don't think I'd be very high on him. I admit I haven't paid attention to him though.

Parakhouski is tearing it up in the Big South. I can't realistically get excited about that.

I love Aldrich. He's going to be out of gettability range, unless we move a huge piece, such as Aldridge, and we won't do that.

I'm down with Cousins, but again, I don't think he's going to be around in our neck of the woods when we select and I doubt we'd give up an important piece to get him, considering his age.

I think he was saying that Cole Aldrich is the best player on your list, not that Lamarcus Aldridge is better than everyone on your list.

Harris is really intriguing, kind of a hard to tell where he'd fit in with our team though. Pittman is still definitely a work in progress and it's slightly encouraging though that he's dropped as much weight as he has. Patterson is probably going to be really good, but I don't think he's going to be in our draft range (unless the team really stumbles down the stretch).

A guy I like is Ekpe Udoh, projected at #14 by Draft Express so the Blazers might be able to trade up to get him. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Ekpe-Udoh-1220/.

He's listed more as a PF/C which I think would be better for us as Oden and Przsbilla might be back, and even if they aren't he can complement Aldrige pretty well because of his toughness and inside play. Here's some quotes from that article:

"With his outstanding length, good size and solid athleticism, Udoh has all the tools necessary to be a very valuable contributor on the NBA level as both a defender and rebounder. So far this season he’s putting them to good use, averaging 9.3 rebounds and 3.6 blocks. His timing appears to be solid, and he does a terrific job using his long wingspan to contest shots. I think you are misunderstanding. He was inferring that Sanders is a lengthy player like Aldridge, when we need someone with some width.

I disagree we need to replace Aldridge with a F/C who can bang, defend and collect rebounds. Aldridge's contract was a mistake IMO. We need to get Roy a partner who has some intensity. You can't count on Oden (due to health), but he has show plenty of flashes this year that he could be that interior presence we need at the C. I think Cunningham and Pendergraph are keepers but we need a high end guy who can play F and the Pivot. I would prefer a back to the basket defender to be in there when Oden is injured or out with foul trouble. The back court and SF positiosn are set.

We need a high end PF/C who can be backed up by Pendergraph and Cunningham. Not ready to give up on Oden. I'm ready to give up on Aldridge he simply doesn't have the warrior mentality which Oden/Roy/Bayless/Rudy have in spades.

Ok so I watched Greg Monroe last night, and he is very interesting. He has some very unique skills for a center.

1. He can put the ball on the floor. Like from out near the 3 point line to face up and drive all the way into the key.
2. He can pass. He created several times using #1, above.
3. He can play D. He was very good at sealing the lane for Georgetown.
4. Fairly efficient.

Problems:

1. Sometims it seemed he got caught "watching" the play happen.
2. Questionable motor, sometimes looked bored out there.
3. Sometimes passed up good opportunities to pass.

#1 and #2 Problems are the primary reasons he went from being a Top 3 projected pick his Freshman year to a late-lotto projection now. And there hasn't been much improvement.

I don't care if he measures out at 6'6" (which he probably won't) at the draft camps, he will be hard to guard in the NBA. He seems almost like he plays on pogo sticks. Any team that gets him is going to get a steal. Might turn out to be the best pro from Gonzaga since Stockton.

That said, I've heard a lot of people in the know say that Elias is in no rush to go pro.
