I'm really looking to this movie. Can't wait to take my dad to see it.

Same

Fandom aside the movie actually looks really good. I think I'd look forward to it even if I'd never heard of Star Wars before. Then again if that was the case good luck dragging me from the rock that I live under.

I agree. The amount of hype this movie is getting is so crazy though. I think it has to be great or there's gonna be a lot of disappointed people. And by great I mean better than Empire. 50 million from presale tickets is unheard of.

They got the right director for it, I thought the reboot of Star Trek was great.

I think the Star Trek reboot was a good action movie but didn't really capture the essence of Star Trek, especially the sequel. They were more reimaginings of the franchise rather than continuations. Lots of Star Trek fans didn't really like them because of that but I don't see that happening with Star Wars because Abrams has said he was never really a Trek fan but he loves Star Wars, and they have a writer from Empire and Jedi and the returning cast members.

Star Trek had Spock.

Chewy is like the Pharrell of the galaxy.... dude never ages.

Hopefully this one isn't terrible like Phantom Menace was. Though I can of course understand not realizing how bad it was as a 4 year old.
As a 4 year old I liked it, now being 21 I don't hate it but it's easily the weakest of the movies, in my opinion Anakin should've been much older when he was found, that's my big gripe with the film... Oh and midoclorians.

I watched a fan edit of the prequels that turned them onto one 2 and a half hour movie that is much more enjoyable. Young Anakin and Jar Jar are completely cut out, along with a lot of the Anakin - Padme romance and the boring senate stuff.

I've watched fan edits of the first two, could you point me to the one(s) you saw?

This makes me just want to have a thread completely devoted to making the Prequel Trilogy better lol like our own little S2 Star Wars writing team. Because, we are nerds.

Remake the movies, have Kobe play JarJar. It will make hating and killing JarJar all the more fun!

There are so many fan edits of Star Wars to choose from. I'm watching
"Star Wars I-III: A Phantom Edit" right now.
Then I'm going watch one called "Star Wars Episode IV Revisited" Supposedly it is the most advanced fan edit EVAR with tons of special effects and shit added or something.

Thanks!

Whoa.... that would have been EPIC!

Lol cmon that's effing ridiculous.

I think there is a 0.00000001 chance that Jar Jar is in this movie. Disney is as smart as they get when it comes to things like this. They know people don't like Jar Jar and to pull something like that they would be taking a massive risk. After green lighting Star Wars themed changes to their theme parks you've got to think they won't be taking a risk like that.

Did you read that thread? It said in interviews that the Jar Jar Binks story line been drastically changed. It would have just been cool if it actually happened in the Star Wars 1-3. Just a fun fan theory.

I read that Jar Jar post a few weeks ago. I'm by no means a Star Wars guy, but it seems like it makes some sense. Additionally, with it being already released that Andy Serkis is Supreme Leader Snoke, it wouldn't be the biggest stretch in the world to go from Phantom Menace Jar Jar sounding like a Jamaican Whoopi Goldberg to "Evil, 60 years later" Jar Jar sounding like Gollum. Especially since JarJar may be the most CGI'd "main" character (outside of Yoda) in all of the 6 movies, and Serkis is the most accomplished "CGI thespian" there is.

Edit: My bad was thinking of Dinklage.

Anyways if this guy is right it will absolutely blow my mind.
