@maxiep nice.

"The Blazers hoped to let the dust settle on this season before making a decision on Stotts, but Stotts and his agent wanted a quick resolution in the case they needed to explore other opportunities. Stotts is believed to be a candidate in Indiana should the Pacers make a change, sources said."

How to come to that conclusion? You don't think it's possible he wants Kidd and he wants him bad enough that he's going to strongarm the move into happening?

That's my guess.
My guess is Dame already knows who Neil wants to target and may be throwing this out there now to simply justify a trade request later by saying see they won’t get me help or the coach I want to play for. Yes it’s a bit conspiracy theory but...

Ah Jesus. Mercy....MERCY!

No douchebags, and no social justice statement hires. Please. Just someone competent who knows what they are doing and how to improve the team. Please. Mercy Olshey.....MERCY.

Jason Kidd is one of the bigger douchebags I've ever seen in this league, and the only thing I've heard about Becky is that "she's a woman". Just please.....please Olshey.....MERCY!

Twitter explodes asking Dame not to do this lol.

At this point, I think both Dame and Olshey know that Olshey is working for Dame if he wants to keep his job.

Not really my jam... I'll leave it for the pros at getting worked up over the marginal stuff

Occasionally I hear things from people I trust.

Is Chris Haynes even that well connected to Lillard anymore. Isn’t he a beat writer for the Cavs. Do you think him in Lillard have some kind of a relationship where they talk often and Lillard is going to spill the beans?

That’s the thing about Twitter. You can throw anything at the wall and it will stick. Quotes aren’t needed for a story to be ran with.

Yeah I’m not getting the outrage on Kidd, sorry.
Yeah so let me get this straight... we're talking about the associate head coach of last year's championship team. A guy who has taken multiple teams to the playoffs as head coach. A first ballot hall of fame point guard from the same city as our best player. A guy who is strong at Xs and Os and player motivation.

What the fuck do people think we're getting here in Portland... and whose resume is better than this one? Spo... yeah in a way but last time I checked he was employed as a head coach. Who else?

Or he has talked to Olshey and Kidd or Billups were the two they decided they wanted to go after. Then they agreed they would interview both and make a good solid decision that both of them agreed on.

I know conspiracy theory all the way but it sure could be possible?

Yes but no. The head coach is the boss... I know it's easy to forget that after 9 years of the summer camp that Stotts ran but in every facet the head coach is where the buck stops as far as the basketball being played. Of course the head coach needs great assistants but playing time, game plan, in game teaching and motivation are things that a head coach does. So I know we've had a cheerleading absentee for a while but I'm hoping we get someone who is very active behind the scenes and during games; making our guys better and planning how we get the most out of them.
Head coach does a lot of that but every game plan has input from it's assistant. Assistant coaches can be very valuable if there correctly.

Dame wants either Kidd or Billups

Damian Lillard had a hard time processing the news Friday that Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts and the organization were parting ways.

“I love Terry,” Lillard told The Athletic. “And I will miss him as my coach.”

But after nine seasons, and an era of successful and entertaining basketball, Stotts and the Blazers agreed he would leave as coach, one day after the team was bounced in the first round of the playoffs by Denver in six games. It was the fourth time in five seasons Portland has failed to advance in the playoffs.

Up next will be a new coach, and Lillard said it would be “ideal” if Stotts’ replacement has experience.

“I like J. Kidd and Chauncey,” Lillard said, referring to Lakers assistant Jason Kidd and Clippers assistant Chauncey Billups.

A source close to Lillard says he prefers Kidd because of his previous head coaching experience in Brooklyn and Milwaukee, and his background as an Oakland point guard. But Portland’s management is intrigued by Billups, the former point guard who was an NBA Finals MVP with Detroit. It is believed the Trail Blazers will ultimately decide between Kidd and Billups.
Indeed i like billups also the man was Genius floor General and head coach on the floor his basketball IQ was similar to Kobe

Okay well if this is the choice then it’s obvious.
