I get what your saying but i'm looking at Sharpe taking his next step, the wing position in GREAT shape for the 1st time since LA & Batum were there, health, and special player Dame is. I also am including the addition of a great outside shooter like Curry or Harris. The Blazers haven't had that kind of specialist since Curry was here. But that's how i see it. I don't see any of the Western Conference teams as invincible either. There's no Showtime Lakers today in the West. You don't really think that team contends for a title, do you?
It's just this year's team without one of our best scorers but with Bridges.
That team may contend for HCA, but it's not a top-10 NBA team in my opinion, and giving up future draft picks, too... that's just silly and the kind of thinking that has had us mired in low-mediocrity for years.
Because Mikal Bridges is a fantastic role player, but the Nets want stars. Scoot gives them the flash they're looking for. It NYC.
That is one example. There are also teams that tank every year and get no where for years. The Kings , for instance. They finally his paydirt with Fox, and Haliburton, and were able to trade one to get Sabonis. But it was 16 freakin' years.
Works for me. I was hardly invested in the playoffs with Stotts as our coach, knowing that we would be out coached and bounced early.Well buckle up, you’re getting your wish, you got no say.
I don't think Scoot is all that, no where near the talent Dame is. Dame does everything Scoot does, only Dame does it smoother. And Dame is a premier shooter. I don't wanna hear about defense, Scoots D is against G Leaguers. But maybe Brooklyn is as high on his talent as some of the posters are. That's what i'm hoping.Bridges was averaging 26/5 as an elite 2 way player at a much more premium position than Scoot.
The Nets would have to be really, really high on Scoot for them to even consider this offer IMO.
And how are you invested now in our playoff run?Works for me. I was hardly invested in the playoffs with Stotts as our coach, knowing that we would be out coached and bounced early.

I don’t think Siakam is worth the #2 pick.
Not even close.I don’t think Siakam is worth the #2 pick.
I agree with you here.Siakam might be worth a 5-7 pick, depending on the draft class, but that's a legitimate debate
the problem is Portland would have to match his 35.5M salary...and at the draft, the only way Portland could match is with something Ant+Little+Keon...OR, make a bigger trade that includes Nurkic
Ant + Nurkic + Walker + 7th pick for Siakam + Boucher works. That adds about 9M in salary though. And the sum of it all looks pretty expensive for Portland. I think Siakam is about the lowest level player the Blazers should sell their lottery pick for though.
Dame
Sharpe
Grant
Siakam
Boucher/Eubanks
a good starting 4 with weakness at C and holes in the bench it would take some clever management to fill
the 1st trade is probably better leaving:
Dame
Sharpe
Grant
Siakam
Nurkic
He prefers it because he gets to keep working.
Hoping in the face of stark reality. Of course you don't want to hear about facts and opinions that contradict your fantastical views. Portland hasn't sucked for 2 years straight, they're just wisely doing some load management getting ready for next year's championship run & I don't wanna hear otherwise.I don't think Scoot is all that, no where near the talent Dame is. Good grief with this nonsense. Silly season on the board has begun. They aren't a player away from competing unless that player is an elite talent. Add Siakam to this mix for Ant and the pick and maybe they crack 500 next year.
STOMP
Not a Bobby Bouche fan. He's not a center. But i like acquiring Siakam. Some in here seem to forget just how good he is, and how good he was in their Championship run. I trade ol' Scootdaddle for Siakam in a heartbeat.Siakam might be worth a 5-7 pick, depending on the draft class, but that's a legitimate debate

Walker isn't supposed to be a star. He's supposed to be a role player. Role players play off the players around them. Surround them with shit and it's no surprise if they look like shit.Walker played with G-Leaguers down the stretch and didn’t stand out.
I'm not saying Scoot is a sure-fire star, but he and Dame aren't that similar. Dame's strength has always been his shooting and that's a Scoot weakness. Scoot plays defense, though. From what I can tell Scoot is much more like a young Russell Westbrook.I don't think Scoot is all that, no where near the talent Dame is. Dame does everything Scoot does, only Dame does it smoother. Could be, but i don't get too excited on how a guy plays defense against G Leaguers.I'm not saying Scoot is a sure-fire star, but he and Dame aren't that similar. Kinda depends on what player we'd take with that pick. There's a strong likelihood that the player taken with the #2 pick turns out worse in the long run than Siakam. But there's a much stronger likelihood that there's a player AVAILABLE at the #2 pick who will be better.I don’t think Siakam is worth the #2 pick.
Plus Dame is a fantastic facilitator. Those highlights didn't show many passes , but Scoot can finish with dunks. He has explosiveness for sure.I'm not saying Scoot is a sure-fire star, but he and Dame aren't that similar. Dame's strength has always been his shooting and that's a Scoot weakness. Siakam has plenty of mileage left. Not sure if any of the forwards in the Draft are really ready now. And Siakam is a badass.Kinda depends on what player we'd take with that pick. Bouche would be a decent vet off the bench as he blocks shots, rebounds & can shoot. Decent defenderNot a Bobby Bouche fan. He's not a center. But i like acquiring Siakam.
