We need to transition from "maximizing talent" and "developing players" to competing. Sure, thats helpful, but his flaws are a detriment in the post-season and one run doesnt change that (its funny how last year it was circumstances but this year it isnt...).Olshey probably did this because Stotts’ players love him, he maximizes talent, he develops players, his teams are fun to watch, he’s the western division coach of the month for the past three months, his teams keep winning, his teams always exceed expectations, and he just coached us to the WCF.
Maybe that has something to do with it.
Whack ass basketball if youre playing.Played at 24 after work. My team had been hot from deep but we got tired and let the opponent back within striking distance. All we needed was one point for a series closing win. I took the ball out, on the right was our two leading scorers, on the left our 4 on the wing and 5 on the block. Second the ball was checked I passed it left and we fed our big like I'd hoped - solid post move FTW.
Olajuwon is one of my top three favorites players ever. Love post play, especially when opponents know its coming but there's no way to stop it. Personally love playing with guys who have stellar post games (like yourself big dog), personally hate when guards don't feed them, throw horrible entry passes, or don't dish to a big who's run the court, especially after a defensive play.
You aren't going to out back-court the Warriors, try as D'Antoni might (no rockets presser yet?). You have to attack the basket and own the paint to own the Warriors. We got murdered on the boards, could not score inside, and couldn't stop them from doing so themselves.
Looney was amazing, made all the right plays (two years ahead of Zach), and benefited from Green's school of foul free hacking. Meanwhile Collins couldn't jump straight up without being whistled. Kanter was Aamazing against the Blunder, both sides of the ball. But by the time he got to the WCF, thanks to his separated shoulder and fasting, was literally worthless. No beast = no chance.
So they shouldve fired him after the WCF...No. They lost in first round in 2013 and he was fired immediately after.
Well, Chuck hasn't weighed in, there is still hope...Fuck. If Canzano likes it we’re screwed.
what happens in your bedroom stays in your bedroom dude! you're way to young to need those funny blue pills!Consider me “unextended”.
Okay, yeah, this thread is literally about coach Stotts so of course that is coaching.
I'm sorry but that is the lamest excuse for a poor performance I've ever heard. They hit a wall in the locker room? That wall is called Terry Stotts and his lack of coaching.
So many excuses...When you say they choked and we choked, since its plural, i can only assume you meant the team and not stotts.
Your opinion is its lame. My opinion is it happened.
Ive seen this wall hit before.
Thoroughbred race horses have some of this same issue.
After such a long season the endurance runs out. Cant go as long. Still start each race out strong but cant finish.
Players cool down at half time. These guys are human man. Not machines. Yes. I 100% believe it was a hell of alot harder for them to turn it back on again going into the third quarter.
You call it lame, i call it logical.
So many excuses...
Well none of that stuff really matters though. I mean what do real experts/players that actually play and work with the guy know?Olshey probably did this because Stotts’ players love him, he maximizes talent, he develops players, his teams are fun to watch, he’s the western division coach of the month for the past three months, his teams keep winning, his teams always exceed expectations, and he just coached us to the WCF.

Sounds like the Cavs interviewed him but are seemingly more interested in Ime Udoka?Hes interviewed elsewhere. We need to snatch him up.

Nah. Just find it hilarious that the dude thinks he’s gods gift to this forum with his basketball knowledge.
To be fair, the Warriors seemed to have no problems turning it on going into the 3rd quarter.
I just didn't see a wall being hit. I saw a team that simply was happy they got to the WCF and were satisfied with at least making it tough on GS a few games but didn't believe they could actually win. What you perceive as tired I perceived as a lack of passion and desire.Exactly. I've said multiple times that I believe there were multiple reasons why things went the way they did. One of them is hitting a wall. Some seem to think that is ALL i'm saying.

Kerr made adjustments at halftime, Stotts didn't. After the 3rd time in a row witnessing it you'd think Stotts would learn a lesson but he didn't.
In every game in this series there was a moment in the 3rd quarter where I thought "Why doesn't Stotts take Dame out now since he is struggling and maybe he can come back in the 4th and take over?" But no, Stotts has to play Dame the entire 3rd quarter no matter what is actually happening on the court. If you're correct and Dame had hit a wall don't you think it would be better to play him in shorter shifts? I know one thing for sure, I don't think it's a good idea to play him for a whole quarter at a time if that's the case. If you're going to play Dame a full quarter wouldn't you want it to be the 4th? Stotts always plays him the entire 1st and 3rd.

Would you agree that the 1st half leads were built primarily on guys other than Dame and CJ playing well? Dame had a good 1st quarter in game 4 but had one of the worst few seconds of any player ever at the end of the half to give GS 5 points when we should've had the last shot. CJ had a few good moments in the 1st half too but overall I'd say those 2 didn't play particularly well and we still had big leads right?See I think if that were the case, we wouldnt have built a lead to begin with if we were satisfied.
Okay, lets pretend you're right and they hit a wall. Why didn't coach recognize that and plan accordingly by the 3rd time it happened? It's not even clear if the guy knew Dame was injured.See I think if that were the case, we wouldnt have built a lead to begin with if we were satisfied.

The answer to who I've already answered in this thread.Maybe he did, but like others have asked that have not been answered, run plays for who else? Hood didnt play well at all this series and neither did Kanter. Run them for Hark and Aminu? Collins?
Sorry I understand the coach wanting to run things through our stars even when fatigued and spent, because its still a better shot than running plays for our scrubs.
Again, I'm not saying Stotts didn't make mistake. That Dame was sharp. I'm saying MANY factors come into play with all of this and hitting a wall because of being gassed SHOULD be one thing to consider in the equation. You keep coming back like they should go forever and being gassed had NOTHING to do with it.
Sorry. Not buying that.
Don't forget Spencer Hawes, Dorrell Wright, umm, umm, Anderson Varejao, ummm, paying to get rid of Vonleh, ummmmm...I haven't had coffee yet, that's all I can think of.FTFY...
The answer to who I've already answered in this thread.
I'm not saying they weren't tired. I'm wondering why we would run players into the ground if they were tired. I've given several suggestions to combat that and you keep coming back saying I'm not recognizing it.
It's a lame excuse.
Oddly enough, defense is the least of our worries. It's our offense that's garbage.I'd love to see Terry offer Tom Thibideau a position as defensive coordinator or Bill Laimbeer a job as a big man coach...
