Norman Powell to New Orleans

Josh Hart/Herb Jones to Portland
That’s interesting. I’d be on board with that, but I think NOP would want to keep their vets and make a push to the playoffs for Zion and that might be a slight overpay for Norm. I’d take Murphy III in place of Hart too though.

I wonder, could Nas play SG? How does a Dame-Nas-Ingram-Nance-Turner team look with Simons as 6th man?

Would love to see Nas some at the '2'. He still needs to develop into some of those skills, but the advantage that would provide the team, would be tremendous. "Clyde-like" if he could get there.

we should be targeting these players, like Kenrich and Dort for example. Also, pretty cool to see Nas on here.

I dont think Naz handles the ball well enough to be a starting two guard. Not yet anyway.

what does that have to do with what I posted? I think you quoted the wrong person lol

True...not yet. That is why the mention of the needed development. But if he could do that, he becomes even more of a weapon.

My bad, I’m only saying that the fact Ingram’s rebounding being better IS a minor thing, he’s 6’8 and CJ is 6’3...You mentioned Myles Turner. He objectively gets more rebounds than CJ. But it really is a minor thing. Maybe it’s just me, but I personally think 7’0 guy averaging less than twice as many rebounds as a 6’3 guy is ABYSMAL.

Ingram gets to the line 3 more times a year, NICE. It’s weird cause I would’ve assumed that leads to Ingram being a better scorer, but he averaged less than 1 point more than CJ last year and less than 3 points more than him this year. Ingram’s ast/to ration is 1.89 this year, close to 2 last year while CJ is 2.37 this year and 3.35 last year, so I’m not giving you that one. If he was a solid defender, I could kind of get on board with it but the fact that he isn’t turns me off on the idea of Ingram at SF.

Your line of thought seems to be more along someone’s who is trying to still compete, that’s probably the disconnect. As you’ve stated, it would be a lateral move. 100% agree. That’s why I don’t look at Ingram at all. Turner is a whole other player you’d have to attach stuff with to acquire. Now that’s a lot of assets for not-a-sure-thing. Pass. Taking a gamble on Bamba or Smith in FA is a much better reward for risk than spending 2 1sts for a guy who has stated in the past he wants a bigger role. Between Dame, Ant, Turner, and potentially Simmons, who do you expect to get the least role on offense?

well...what is the better trio at PG-SG-SF: Dame-CJ-Powell or Dame-Powell-Ingram? Pretty clearly it's the 2nd trio because it's a much more logical balance.

now, I can't remember what the discussion was on what was being traded. I was just talking about plugging in Ingram for CJ in terms of Portland's potential upside with either. There is no upside to Dame/CJ, we're there and it sucks. But sure, the Pels don't have to cooperate.

just a note, the value of FT's is that Ingram is averaging 2.3 more points on 0.2 less shots.

Be realistic, how much value do you expect to get back for Ingram if you trade him in 2024 cause he’s said he won’t re-sign?

I don't think it matters much at all and shouldn't be a consideration. Ingram's contract runs thru 2025, which is 3.5 years from now. It ends the same time Dame's does.

ok then, speaking of "disconnects". I'm talking about at least trying for a player like Ingram. Taking a bigger swing. You're talking bout adding guys like Bamba or Smith....right out of the olshey school of low expectations. They can be added to the TRob-Vonleh-Stauskas-Skal-Hezonja-Tolliver-Bazemore-Jones-RHJ-Giles-Leaf-Snell-Zeller ledger of players who are unlikely to make a bit of difference.

by the way, I was mainly talking CJ vs Ingram. I may have missed your point because you mentioned a lot more players

Turner over Sabonis is a total Neil Olshey move.

I hope this Turner stuff is either untrue or a smokescreen.

Yeah Turner the theory is much better than Turner the reality. Can’t believe I’m watching a pacers game again right now, but I hate him (or the idea of trading for him) more with every watch. If Blazer fans had to watch him every game, they would be over it pretty quick imo.

I think we'd have to add a lot more to that deal.

I dont know why they'd move OG for an expiring nurk, or Turner for that matter.

Would Nurk be restricted? Would they have his bird rights?

They need a center desperately. They have interest in Nurk, but think they can get him as a FA. They like OG, but have a bit of a logjam between him and Barnes.....and they like Barnes better.
is it your assumption that they have interest in nurk or you have some info

they do need a center, but ive never seen any rumour about them being interested in nurk

Turners final line

5 points (2-9 shooting, 0-3 on threes)
7 rebounds
3 steals
0 assists
2 blocks
Team worst -19.

Aiight I’m done shitting on him you get the picture.

So what's his whole season look like?

I'd rather land a recent first-round pick center and hope he blossoms to be what Jarrett Allen turned out to be.

Below average shooting, below average rebounding, zero play making. Imagine being 6’11 250 with plus athleticism and averaging less than 7 rebounds for your career.

Guess I'll have to actually look at his stats lol

Another thing, if Watford develops the rest of the season, does that make Nance expendable? Because if he does, I think Roco is a better fit because teams actually honor his shot. Watford looks best as a 4 or a small ball 5, same as Nance. I don’t see any in house replacements for Roco, so if we can only pay one, I’d rather it be Roco. All dependent on Watfords development of course, so this is probably more of a topic for the offseason.

Just for comparisons sake

Watford per/36

13 ppg
9.5 rpg
2.3 apg
2.3 bpg
0.6 spg
2.9 PF

Nance/36

10.7 ppg
8.8 rpg
3.1 apg
0.5 bpg
1.6 spg
2.8 PF

Watford, lol.

A lot of that can be situation and fit next to Sabonis. He can block shots and scored 40 in a game this season.

Yeah I’m not a Turner fan either. He’s a glorified Channing Frye.
