Let’s buy low on Myles and sit him the rest of the year to heal up + help the tank :)
seriously... i literally put a list of injured players who would come back next year with Dame who could help us tank just last week. Add Turner to the list

trying to find guys with some sorta injury this year to help us tank and then be on contract next yr.

- Jerami Grant out at least 2 more weeks, but we can prolly come up with some sorta reason to sit him and stealth tank.
- Saric -- obvious fit, especially if he can come with Jalen Smith attached.
- James Wiseman -- he's out indefinitely. I like this one essentially straight up trade for RoCo if GS wants to bite (need to add ~2 mil from GS).
- TJ Warren -- FA in the summer .
- Dillion Brooks is out until FEB at least.
- Oladipo -- FA
- Collin Sexton -- FA and a bad fit
- Brook Lopez
- Zach Collins - lol
- Jonathan Isaac-- hmmm sucks he's not vaccinated but intriguing.
- Fultz -- not a great fit
- Derrick Rose -- I don't want that long contract
- Paul George /Zion/Kawhi--- guy can dream.

I attached Nance (or Covington if he indicates he won't stay) because I don't think we will need both of them if Siakam is here and I have always liked McConnel. Also saves almost $3 million on the cap. But I understand that you and I have different values on both CJ and Siakam. I still think best player wins.
Anyone else have an opinion? @TBpup @James lamphear @hoopsjock Here is the trade again. Can substitute Covington for Nance if wished, Also can do it without trading either and not getting McConnell back. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6vlkpzd
I would do CJ Covington and 1st protective for skiakam and McConnell I d

Windhorst said the teams interested in Turner want to potentially keep him long term and could consider extending him this summer itself.

they’re also far enough under the tax to where they could absorb Powell and they’d still be under. Dunno what I’d ask for in return but I’d be happy with just a first if it meant dumping his entire contract.

Why would we want to dump Powell's team friendly contract?

Because we have enough scoring guards that don’t defend.

Powell's the best defender, on the cheapest contract, and plays SF the best of any of the 4 guards.

Now for a starting forward sure I'd looks at sending out Powell or ideally CJ. But for only a trade exception that most often expires worthless; how about we just keep Norm?

If we send out Norm, or really any starter, we need to be getting a useful player back.

Cutting Norm's contract but keeping Dame supermax, CJ $30 million, and Anf likely $20 million doesn't solve our cap issues. Keeping Norm with one or two of the above would.

yeah idk about the return, I just see no way that Powell/CJ/ and Ant are all gonna be here next season. Safe bet one of them will be gone, at minimum. And I actually think Ant is the best defender of the four with the ability to get better. Powell struggles to keep players in front of him and is too small to play the three full time. I think the three should be Nas’ starting spot.

Chicago's defense has been horrible of late. They may well want a guy like Roco. Would they do Roco and ~Zeller (DSJ) for a FRP + Caruso + a ~bad contract to square things? Yes, Caruso is mainly a defender/playmaker, but they already have Lonzo. Is that way too much for Roco?

Really? I thought Bey was supposed to be pretty good. Has he had a bad year? Seems like a decent package if he is as good as we thought last year.

bey is ok, but I don’t think he’s as good as Nas, for example. I can see why Morey passed. Grant is also a role player with a green light, I don’t think he should be the headliner for a player like Simmons.

I don't know. Caruso is their backup SG and they liked him enough to sign to a 4 year contract. But they really need a forward like Roco, so maybe if we did Roco plus Mac for Caruso, Jones and that pick?

ya no thanks. I'd rather let Nas blossom into a similar player

if you were talking about Siakam I think that might be a long wait and bad strategy

Grant is not on Siakam's level and he only has one year left of his contract. Betting on Nas vs Grant is a much better bet than Nas vs Siakam...as an example

my post had nothing to do with siakam. i was talking about grant

Maybe CJ can be the headliner and Grant be the 1A. CJ can go to Philly, Ben to Detroit, and Bey/Olynyk and the pick can come here.

relax francis

Bruh...... at least use the correct quote!

Grant is becoming so overrated by that fanbase.

His defense took a nose-dive after the 2018 season and is now a volume scorer with inconsistent/mediocre defense. His volume scoring is on sub-par efficiency to top it off :pokecrap:

He’s a Morris twin wanting to be the first option. That’s not an exaggeration — wants to go to a situation where he’s the “primary creator.”

this article says he wants to be “a primary offensive option” but if he wants to be THE primary offensive option OR creator he has something else coming.

Supposedly, Grant and Dame were pretty tight during the Olympics. Maybe a chance to play with Dame would cure Grant's illness of thinking he should be #1 option. I think Grant's defense would be rejuvenated playing for a winning team.
And everybody who keeps throwing Nance in trades as a filler, please stop. He is the ideal man off the bench in almost any system. If he goes, there better be someone similar in return. I like the growth Watford is showing, but he's no center. The second unit is getting killed on the boards and interior defense. Nance would be one of the guys I would silently put on my no trade list. Same with Mac.
