He's not a two-way PG to me. Because he's not good offensively. He can't shoot at all. Defenders can sag off, help off, and go under pick n rolls on him. There's a reason he was gettable for the minimum and wasn't in the rotation to start the year.

If we can get a better 3rd guard than him while trading CJ and Norm, we should do it.
If we are trading CJ AND Norm, it better not be for a 3rd fucking guard.
you did read my next post stating my whole assertion was that the “main piece of the trade [we receive] should be at least 6’7”, right?

i don’t care if we get a *guard* back, but that better be 10% of the trade value where the other 90% is a front court player worth a damn.

I don't love CJ.....try reading context. I don't think he's tradeable for the 5th time here....you said Dame and CJ can't win together and they have...as to the Warriors....Steph and Klay have not split up....if you're talking Ellis....he's the worst player of the 4 you compare in my view...Chauncey knows damned well what it takes to win a chip with role players....give him time to develop that here. I accept that CJ has a toxic contract but I'm not gushing over him.....sometimes folks really sensationalize these things out of context. Winning a game tonight is great to me....you said Dame and CJ can't win together...I know they have won together...simple observation. I'd rather have Jimmy Butler any day over CJ....that ain't happenin' so why lose enjoyment over it. You thinking CJ needs to bounce isn't paying his contract off....that's why he's not bouncing. Monte Ellis was 6'3 and 185lbs...drafted 40th and is out of the league 7 years ago yet only 36 years old...out of the league since he was 29 years old...that should tell you something...the Warriors would have traded him for a CJ talent in a heartbeat.
Bro. If John Wall and Westbrook have been traded, CJ can be traded. Stop kidding yourself. There were even reports that Simmons would be traded for CJ and three firsts that we turned down. He isn't untradeable. Olshey just overvalued him.

They haven't won together. A participation trophy isn't winning.

Klay isn't CJ. He was a billion times better until he got hurt.

I'm not kidding myself....I've heard the chatter and agree with several writers about why CJ is a negative contract....and Portland ain't New York City...you're obsessed with a ring...that's kidding yourself...enjoy it if it happens but don't ruin the game for yourself thinking that's the only measure of success for a sports franchise....it's like winning an Oscar....couple years later, nobody remembers....see Bucks fans. Fact is Portland values CJ more than you do and it has nothing to do with me....I'd never give him that kind of money...if Joe can work a trade I'll be shocked but don't thinks an 82 game regular season and playoff run are "participation" trophies.....I won a state championship and nobody built me a statue in 1968.....high school sure but it's not chopped liver..no need to buzzkill folks who got the bronze, etc....HOF players without rings don't get "participation" trophies...they get honored for great careers.
Speak for yourself. I wouldn't forget a championship. I would attend the parade.

Morey offered Simmons for CJ and three firsts is what the rumor was. We turned it down. Not as untradeable as you think. Pelicans rumored to want him. Again. Not as untradeable as you think.

You've already forgotten ours apparently....I sure haven't. Neil turned down the Simmons deal and the Harden deal...as I said...the Blazers like CJ more than you do but I think CJ is more untradeable than you do......from other franchise's perspective....not Blazer fans perspective....here it's wishful thinking in my view.....we have other assets that will be in demand and CJ won't be on the list in my opinion
I wasn't alive. I've told you that a million times.

Most Blazer fans didn't get tickets to that game or get to be at the parade....back then you read about games in the Sunday paper...but I understand this generation has an instant gratification jones....enjoy the ride...hope we win one for fans as well...I sure.don't lose sleep over it
instant gratification? What an idiotic statement. I've been a fan for 30+ years.

Simons just had 12 pt 1 assist and 2 turnovers.. CJ has 12 pts 2 dimes and zero assists......

Stats are in favor of Ant now and look at FG% as well.

key for me is watching Ant maturing in front of our eyes…CJ’s been dribbling around for years

what? Needing to be at a concert when you can see it today online as a viable option...but piss off with the insult because idiotic is as sensationlized as your craving for a championship participation ticket stub and a selfie....you don't need to call me names to talk about this but if that's where we've gotten too...I'm out...
Calling something you said idiotic is not a personal insult.

Watching a concert on the tv is not the same as seeing it live.

I like seeing Ant grow......I'm trying to watch Chauncey era CJ and not previous CJ....I think he's trying to pass more this season...

i think CJ gets traded by the deadline. I think RoCo goes too….different deals would be my guess.

Personally I’d be happy to see Nurk get traded but I will predict he re-signs this Summer

sure doesn't help have an adult conversation....I'm not opening those doors so if you want to talk about a topic....respect the dialogue or don't bother.....people do want instant gratification with media these days....even pumping gas....call it whatever you want but I've lost my taste for the conversation now....somebody else can join you. Enjoy your evening
Bro, you said this generation is instant gratification now. I've been a fan for 30+ years. That is not instant gratification wanting a championship. That wasn't a personal insult. You can criticize a post.

Expecting a different outcome after multiple years with our backcourt and still expecting different results is boring.

Smoke a joint and relax.

When I take my boat in front of Dames house on the Willamette and on occasion there are adults and kids playing on their property I get the feeling Dame like's roots? What I want to see is what kind of impact Chauncey might have on convincing players and agents that PTown would be a good option.

Boating on the Willamette is one of my most favorite past times. If I was a millionaire that's where I'd live! PS we should be friends (real life).

CJ is an amazing player when his shots come in the flow of the offense - not when he's the focal point.
Ant the TankKiller.

hmmmm, CJ NEVER gets shots from “the flow” only when he’s dribbling around and creates his own shot. In my opinion of course

People do want instant gratification, but that has nothing to do with people wanting to feel the euphoria of living through their team winning a title. It had do so with experiencing things for yourself rather than vicariously through another's life.

You don't need to be...it's all in the archives and on the interweb....plus you see the banners hanging in the rafters.....not "participation" trophies. We're part of sports history at the highest level.

Nah. 100% disagree. If you weren't alive for it, it means way less. That's just human.

Like omg the Oregon ducks won the national championship back in the 60s.

Means nothing but a mere "oh cool." Unless you were there. We can "say" it. But the feeling is WAY different from someone who got to experience rather than just know it as a historical footnote. That's not even up for debate. It's just how it works as human beings.

There are questions that need to be answered. The first question is are we trying to win big with Dame? The resounding answer from the organization has been yes. Then you ask yourself if this roster is even close to having the potential to win big with Dame and when I say that I mean win a title. The answer is no. So every player that isn't Dame should be being shopped right now.

Ant's value has to be really high right now, CJ's value may not be getting an all star back in return but it's positive and we should get what we can for him, RoCo by almost every report is gone, Nurk could be a piece that wins big with Dame but if you can get good value right now without paying him in the off season you do it and Norm should have solid value too.

If Dame is who we want to win with our future picks have very little value to us in achieving that so use Larry or RoCo both of whom should be attractive to the Bulls to get our pick back and free up all of our future firsts and use as many of them as needed. Combine these pieces to get two all star level players that complement Dame, don't worry today about the depth around them.

There is another way. You build around Ant and sell all off our other players for young prospects and picks... then trade Dame next season after he's proven that he's still Dame... or to a team that doesn't need the proof trade him right now. You can't have it both ways because if you start next season with Ant off the bench or starting next to Dame, Ant will look worse and his trade value will go down, not to mention we have no idea how much he will be making and how that will impact his trade value but I don't forecast it's going to increase it.

I've been a die hard fan since I was eight. I have the Pistons and Bulls finals on VHS... I don't have a VCR but keep them for the sake of nostalgia. If we would have won the Pistons finals because lets face it we weren't beating MJ, I would still be starving for another legitimate shot at a championship... starving! When I say a legitimate shot I mean being in a competitive finals. We have to get there and that has to be the organizations only goal, as a fan there really can't be any other goal. I don't understand just wanting to make the playoffs or have a team whose ceiling is advancing but not winning it all.

If Dame is not the guy to get us there, we have to build around Ant and trade Dame. If Dame with other all star help could get us there then trade every fucking asset we have to get him other all star help and use the MLE and the huge number of talented specialist players that will sign for the minimum to get us the rest of the way there.

Disclaimer: I love being a Blazers fan when the results are underwhelming or downright hurt but being a true Blazers fan means needing us to win it all. If anything else feels good to you, I just don't know what to tell you.

I was just talking about being alive to FULLY appreciate the finals win.

We all want that no matter what we say lol

Hollinger is kinda dumb but I’ll post it anyway

I wanna trade Norm, CJ, Nurk, RoCo for 1st rounders, cap relief, and solid players to fill out all the holes in this roster.

CJ/Elleby/2nd rounder to Pels for Hart,Valančiūnas

Norm/Nurk/DSJ to Raptors for OG, Boucher, Flynn

RoCo/Blevins to Knicks for Noel and the expiring contract of Arcidiacono

Let Zeller and Snell walk at end of season

Dame/Flynn
Ant/Hart/McLemore
OG/Little/Watford
Boucher/Nance/GB3
Valančiūnas/Noel

Plus a lottery pick in this years draft, hopefully at PF

Maybe that sucks but it took too long to type to delete.

I guess you misunderstand what I mean by 3rd guard then. Simons would stagger with Dame. We'd need someone to play SG for 25 minutes a game. Doesn't have to be a "guard" in the sense of a PG or 6'3 guy.

If we get back assets that help us get a 6'7 guy, while getting back a good SG alongaide to play 25 minutes as a backup SG, I don't see the problem.

julius randle is so out of it in NY. dude is just going thru the motions. looks like he can't stand his teammates and they can't stand him. we might have had guys pouting, but never this bad. NY media ain't helping but he could use a change of scenery fast. I was all for a CJ for Randle swap earlier, but think we might be able to get him for less.

He's a chucker. Not nearly as good as Nurk. If we can get him to Toronto though...
