It's worrying to me. I rhink Meyers has great potential, I think as he gets older he has better understanding of where to be/what to do on defense and when he does, he could be our 3rd star-talent player along with CJ and Dame, I think we should try our best to keep him in Portland.

I'm trying to think of another big man to come into the league that was this lost on defense, lacking in basketball instincts, and pulled it all together after 3 years. Not being a smart ass, seriously trying to think of an example. Usually the big guys have to work on footwork, get used to the speed of the game, etc. but have a nose for the ball, toughness, or some other natural instinct that Meyers is lacking. When Meyers isn't making shots he is nearly useless out there. I hope it changes but I don't like his odds, and I think some other team will offer him something we won't want to pay and he'll become someone else's 'potential' star problem.

Dude sucks worse than Tim Fraizer.

T-Rob had a nice double-double in 20 minutes, didn't he? And Frazier not playing is a symptom of the problem (stupid fans, stupid coach) not the solution (everyone just listening to me).
Back to the topic, I'd be and I was the first to point out Meyers obvious weaknesses (mostly defensive awareness and IQ) but I also tell it like it is and Meyers is our 3rd most talented offensive player and he does play with fire and intensity. He's a keeper and hopefully we can keep him

It's true but Meyers in general plays like an oversized 3. He has amazing shooting ability and ability to take the ball to the hole for a player his size but he's lacking in interior defensive instincts.
He would have to learn and get better at it

LOL. Give it up. Fraizer sucks. He will never be good, has never shown he'd be good.

Meyers is a bust. He will never be good, has rarely shown to be good outside a handful of games.

Has meyers EVER taken the ball to the hole? EVER? I am honestly asking that. I do not recall one time.

No, he always stops before getting into the paint, then squeels like a little girl and floats the ball up towards the basket like it's a ooky muddy ball that he doesn't want to get onto his dress. I remember that play a few games ago where he could have just gone up and jammed it, but instead he gave it this dainty little tap and it hit the front iron. Dude is just as soft as Channing Frye, and he has a much slower release.

Good article here about the Brooklyn Nets -
http://basketball.realgm.com/article/240417/A-Five-Step-Plan-To-Fix-The-Nets

Over the years, NBA.com data has shown us that the Nets are better overall with Lopez, an All-Star in 2013, on the floor, but always noticeably worse defensively. The defensive woes are a real concern but perhaps the most damning evidence against Lopez is how the 2013-14 Nets team took off while he spent 65 games on the sidelines that year with a broken foot.

I'm a fan of Brook Lopez. I think he'd be a great fit with this current Blazer squad. I think the offensive load could still be carried by Dame and CJ, and our defense could still be anchored by Aminu, Davis, and Plumlee. Lopez would fill that needed low post scorer role. It's just a matter of determining what the Blazers would need to give up to get Lopez. I don't think the Nets would let him go on the cheap.

Huh????? Third best over Crabbe? Huh? Id even question whether he is better than Aminu. Offense isn't all about shooting percentage, its about attacking the rim and learning team ball within the concept... meaning quality screens and positioning.
Again, no one wants him to succeed any more than me, but you said you say it like it is and what you said, isn't.

His argument is forever nullifed when he says that Tim Fraizer is the reason we suck.

Or that Tim Fraizer deserves playing time.

Or that Tim Fraizer is good at all.

He has a few times, and most times, he looked great...but also wide open. He cant get around anyone to take it to the hole. He is too slow and moves like maple Syrup.

He has a actually made it to the rim a few times in his career, but yes this. Most of the time, its this...

Meyers can take the ball on the 3-point line and drive for a dunk. He has special potential. He has Center size and Small Forward skills. We need to find the right way to use him but if we do he isn't much different than Porzingis everyone is so in love with in New York, he is also stronger and maybe more athletic. He's our best offensive weapon in the frontcourt and he gives us more options without hurting the fluency. He needs to learn to play Center, learn to play Power-Forward and when he does he'd be worth the 60 mil contract he turned down

Mrs. Leonard, I don't think you are seeing Meyers' skills with an objective eye.

The only thing meyers and ProzinGOD have in common is haircut, height, and complexion dont denigrate Porzingis by even mentioning him in the same sentence as Lenoard. They are not comparable. One is a bonafide player the other is not.

Seriously!!! Hahaha. IM sorry Blazer forever, but thats not even Homerism, thats just Blindism.

So your saying he can drive to the hole and dunk from the 3pt better than AMinu? Hell Harkless has better moves in that scenario.
Come on man, lets be real here. your not telling it like it is, your telling it like you want it to be.

He's never done that. Ever.

Meyers can't take the ball on the 3-point line and drive for a dunk. He has little potential. He has Center size and no skills. We need to find the right way to trade him and if we pretend he isn't much different than Porzingis everyone is so in love with in New York then maybe we can get a bag of peanuts.back. He looks stronger and maybe less athletic. He's our 4th best offensive weapon in the frontcourt and he gives us more losing options while hurting the fluency. He needs to learn to play basketball, learn to play period and when he does he'd be worth the .60 mil contract he turned down
FIFY

btw, has any center ever gone from the 3 pt line and slam it down before? Regularly? because... if you want meyers to be a center (which he never will be) than that's never happening.

Playing devils advocate, I seem to remember Bill Cartright doing this very thing in the finals once? but maybe he was just inside the 3pt.

*coughs* "regularly" *coughs* ;)

Funny. When I first read that, I thought you said Really? not Regularly? HAHA

It would be a paradox to the NBA and we would all be sucked into the metamorphic black hole of nothingness because the moment a true center can do that regularly, there wont be competition anymore until a second center comes along and can do the same. :)

And meyers aint gonna be the first.

Zach Lowe said on his podcast that he spoke with some GMs about Lopez and one of them said that the due diligence his franchise will need to do on Lopez and his legs' health before such trade will be more extensive than anything his franchise has ever done before in that regard.

I think that tells us exactly what we need to do in order to bring Lopez (Nothing).

Brook Lopez, tonight against Thunder: 31 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, only one turnover despite how often he handled the ball.

Better option than K Love

He is better than Love, i'd give him that much.

If he was healthy then i would support bringing him over if the price is cheap. I'd let him do all the work in the 1st half together with CJ and then let Damien take over from the middle of the 3rd.

It amazes me how much you overvalue our scrubs...
