As I mentioned a while back, KD & KI will stay with the Nets. Just negotiating leverage.

Probably, at least until after Christmas. If they play hardball and don't play much ala Simmons, the Nets will be forced to get more realistic.

The Nets are out of their minds. Marks has to try and make it look good, but damn. If I was the Timberwolves, I just hang up the phone, no response.

I don't even know that I would trade a young Anthony Edwards straight up for an older Durant if salary cap wasn't an issue.

They are delirious.

Yeah I wouldn’t. Edwards is a player I admit I whiffed big time on. I thought he was a knucklehead who wouldn’t translate

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported on Tuesday that “rival executives believe Durant wouldn’t want to be traded to New Orleans.”

Well duh, CJ is there

Well that, and Durant needs at least 3x all stars on the team; or they had the best record in the NBA the prior season; preferably one of the best records in the last half decade.

Ayton and the Pacers just effectively eliminated Phoenix from being able to land Durant.

No more S&Ts possible with DeAndre.

Wow, the Pacers just took a lot of options off the table for a lot of teams.

They can make up the $$ matching part pretty easily with bridges, strict, Payne, crowder, cam, Craig, etc. Matching Ayton's value in a deal however becomes much more difficult.

sure, but I figured Ayton was the main piece headed out (not necessarily ending up in BK) in a KD trade.

Suns are out of the sweepstakes. If only Portand had some options...

Him and Kyrie are going to end up on the fucking Lakers for Russ, KD their '26 and '28 firsts unprotected.

Kyrie, THT, KD, LeBron and Damian Jones with Tuscano-Anderson, Walker, Bryant and Reaves off the bench has to be a team that could fuck with the Warriors.

Bryant and Reaves

He's coming out of retirement!

They're bringing Kobe back from retirement/the dead to come off the bench? He probably still thinks he should start, even now.

I think KD might be the best player in hoops, but I also wouldn't trade him straight up for Edwards. History says 34 years old is trending down likely on a steep slope.

...and take every shot to add to his one all time NBA record

Sounds like there aren't many offers for KD. Teams don't want to give up a ton of picks or young guys for a 34 year old on a super max that is unhappy with his 3rd franchise. Two studs on Durants wish list of teams; Booker and Bam are ineligible to be traded. Nets GM will have a hard time selling their owner on a return that is less than what Utah got for Gobert. Appears this will go on a while with both Durant and Irving being members of the Nets into training camp.

If the Blazers weren't hard capped we might actually have a had a real shot at getting him. Now there is no chance until December, and even then it'll be extremely hard to get salaries that are more than Durants 44 million instead of only being within 20% of it.

If Dame will be mvp shinig till Dec, Blazers should at least try to get him and land that chip next three years.

you know, if Brooklyn holds KD into the season, and Ant plays as well as expected, that could be a prime chip. I think theres a greater than 0% chance that Ant turns into as good of a player as Booker, if not better, at least offensively. So if Phoenix isnt willing to offer him up, they could potentially get a younger version. I also think Ant would be a more valued trade piece than Bam, just because ballhandlers will always be more valued in todays NBA. As for why Portland would offer up Ant if he was that good, they'd still have Hart and Sharpe if hes anywhere near as good as advertised.

Yes. Our best shot at a star (KD or otherwise) is to go into the season and hope that one or more of Ant, Sharpe, or Little take a huge leap into “blue chip” territory that can then be used as the foundation (along with picks) for an all star.
