Yes it was. It was reported that it was tender and he was being treated for it. But he insisted on playing. I don't know how much rest he would have needed, maybe several weeks? No way was he going to sit for long due to soreness. That's just Wes.

Okay. I still don't see what that point changes with the people raising it, however. Wes takes pride in not missing games. What does that have to do with a contract year and being motivated by money? He got paid either way, so any point you could try to make falls on its face instantly.
 
Wes has to grab that contract. It would be short sided and stupid to play for cheaper. He can donate the money to charity or whatever use he wants. But throwing away millions of dollars is irresponsible personally and on some levels harmful to the NBA game.

Fans who are angry about a player accepting millions are dumb fans anyways and I'm glad players don't worry about them. It would make me dissapointed if a player didn't sign contracts they were being offered.

Why will no one respond to the point that taking less for one year could have netted him as much or more with the new salary cap? Ironically, ignoring that is what's short-sighted.

Because as his play has shown, if he did that, the next contract would be a league minimum or something. He made the best choice possible under the circumstances...

I think he took the money he did because it was much of an insurance policy as it was him betting on himself being a quick healer. Good for him, I'm glad he got paid (especially by another Western Conference team).

What's the fucking beef?

I doubt that. Everyone but Wes expected it to be a year-long injury. Why would the team he signed with for less for a "rehab" year hold that against him once he had worked his butt off to get back to his expected level?

I've got no beef with Wes. Why do people keep asking that without responding to the initial question that started all this: Why sign a contract that you can't possibly live up to, in the process becoming villified by the fan base, when there was a win-win alternative?

Tim Frazier playing right now for the Red Claws (against Delon Wright, whom a lot of us wanted in the draft)

 
Nic dropped 31 last night, Kemba scored 33. They've beaten a few bad teams over the past ten but what really surprises me is that they've beat the Pacers 3 times in that stretch, including twice at Indiana. They seem to be doing a pretty good job of pushing up to the middle of the pack in that race rather than falling back like the Pacers.
