The Nurk injury update thread

75% chance he’s the same player!? That sound good to anyone? I was hoping he just scratched the surface and was going to get better, now we have a 3 outta 4 chance we might get back the same player. Fuckin A

That "same player" comment doesn't mean he'll be frozen in time at the moment before he got hurt. It means there's a 75% chance that this injury won't limit him once it's healed. Any upside potential he had before would still remain, if that doctor is correct.

If it’s a complete break of the tibia/fibula (which I think it might be based on location) the expected recovery time is 3-6 months plus rehab. My completely uneducated guess is that he will return in early 2020. I pray his career isn’t over though.
I heard pretty much the same thing about a recovery time.
If that's true then I'm expecting him to be able to compete right about the start of next season.

Also, anyone else blaming Seth Curry for this injury? If he had hit his free throw we wouldn’t have gone into OT.
I never thought of this.
Yeah, Curry makes an excellent scapegoat.

Again like I said in another thread. It isn't the refs' fault Nurk got hurt, no one wanted that to happen to anybody.

It's easy to look for a scapegoat. If nothing else, I think the idea of allowing players to hook a guy underneath the basket and not allowing room for landing should warrant at least a conversation by the league. The truth of the matter is 3 players fouled out trying to guard Nurk Monday. They were doubling him down low (sandwiching him essentially) because he was abusing them on the boards. There's nothing in the rules against doing this but it does set up for incidental contact.

Good news is Nurk is only 24 years old and under contract for 3 more seasons ...this guy is what we wish we could've had in a young Sabonis ...he's a stud that is worth being patient with...man his numbers in the last game were those of a superstar...he'll be back and when he is our younger guys will be even better suited for a championship run than they are even this season

Curry is no different than every other player who missed a shot...at one pt we had bricked 7 free throws ...for some reason we've been slipping at converting free throws recently.

Nope, Curry is different. He is my convenient scapegoat.
But if it would make you feel better, someone suggested blaming Charles Barkley and I'm okay with that, just as long as it isn't me. Blaming the water boy? Okay. Hey, let's blame Sly, now that would be fun.

Anyone else think it’s a bit odd(or lame) that Terry didn’t stop by the hospital to see Nurk? Especially since Dame/CJ did. I mean I understand it’s probably 10 min from the arena but wtf.

Terry must know he just cost him his job.

Still a crappy thing to do as a coach and leader, especially considering that prior to the injury Nurk was basically single handily helping Stotts retain his job.

How do we know Terry didn't visit him? That is some assumption.

Well he is texting him etc., I guess that's not good enough?

Umm, it’s a 10 min drive. If my bones were sticking out the side of my leg and I was the second best player on the team I’d think my coach could stop by. He could of uber pooled with Dame and CJ if he was worried about traffic.

Just another thing to put on my Stotts Sucks list.

It's weird, because Stotts isn't the type to not go...

Why would you think he didn't show?

I suspect there was limited time he could get visitors after the surgery and the team flying out and they decided it was more important to get NO and teammates to visit him.
