Looks like he was operated on by a very good doctor:

EDIT: nevermind, I lost the link. Good Orthopedic doctor though; 4.7/5 Google rating.

Protecting his health comes first, but would be great if he could be wheeled out for player intros first home postseason game

Should be on crutches by then/

First playoff game would be awesome.

Listen to him try and know metals. 316L just means a lower carbon. Stainless steel is actually very weak when compared to other metals. Titanium is muuuuuch stronger. Hell, grade 5 is stronger.

Yeah i laughed at that too.
304 is just as strong really. Its jut not food grade.

Not sure wth he is even talk about. Should be a titanium rod and only a titanium rod. I think titanium weighs less than as well.

I hardly deal with titanium though so id have to look that one up tomorow in the office.

Titanium is used for surgical implants because the human body accepts it, and it is non-poisonous and biologically inert. Stainless steel metal implants are prone to develop some serious medical conditions and diseases.

I looked it up because i knew there have been some problems with 316 stainless in the past.

Can we sign another player for rental like Marcin Gortat?

316 stainless is actually better than 304 (in this scenario). 316 doesnt corrode from (mostly) anything. titanium should always be used, though, in a human body.

i deal with fasteners all day, every day. different metals, yield strengths, tensile strengths, etc...

I'm in St. Louis this week doing CWI training. I do quite a bit with metal also.

75% chance he’s the same player!? That sound good to anyone? I was hoping he just scratched the surface and was going to get better, now we have a 3 outta 4 chance we might get back the same player. Fuckin A

He will come back even better, because Lillard will demand it.

Seriously, Lillard is tight with Nurk and is a fantastic teammate and leader. If Lillard has to he will rehab right alongside Nurk. He likes Nurk as a friend but also Nurk makes things easier for him as a player. Lillard will be there every step of the way with Nurk. Book it.

I think its great that Nurkic has people around to help him get through the rehab and all of that. Whether he’s ever the same basketball wise isnt as important as the fact he’s hopefully got a long life ahead of him that hopefully he can walk for.
I am not sure if he’ll ever be the same, and as a fan that sucks. As a person Im glad he’s got the friends, and means to be ok as he gets through it. Ive never broke any thing like that, but two bad knees and a torn calf muscle, I can appreciate how good it is to have people around to encourage you.

@Charcoal Filtered answered this i think and the answer is no. We arent eligible for an injury buy unitl next season or something.
10 day contracts are different from what i can find.
Here is disabled player but i can't seem to find 10 days?
Disabled Player Exception. A team may replace a player who suffers a season-ending injury or illness with one player making up to the lesser of (a) 50% of the disabled player’s current salary, or (b) the amount of the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Salary Exception for the season in which the Disabled Player Exception is used. The following rules apply with respect to the Disabled Player Exception: (a) An application can be made with respect to a Salary Cap Year at any time from July 1 through January 15 of such Salary Cap Year, regardless of when the injury or illness occurred. (b) The disabling injury or illness must make it substantially more likely than not, in the judgment of an NBA-appointed physician, that the disabled player would be unable to play through the following June 15. (c) A contract signed pursuant to the Disabled Player Exception may be for one season, or if the Exception is used to acquire a player by assignment, then the acquired player must be in the final season of his contract. (d) A Disabled Player Exception expires on the March 10 following the date on which the Exception is granted.

I wish they had a “whoops” rule. Where one player a year you could waive (pay them there money) and it would go off your cap immediately. Third year in a row I wish we could “whoops” rule ET...

They should have kept the amnesty rule. Or, better yet, our GM shouldn't have signed Turner for 19 million, Meyers for 11 million and most importantly, Turner for 19 million.

One of my great objections to the current cap system. A player not on the roster should not count against the cap - period. If the team is willing to take the financial hit of waiving the player, that should be penalty enough. Penalizing the team's ability to compete is just absurd.

We have enough bigs to plug in for Nurk but even to sign another you won't get the talent matched...is what it is. I'd rather see Kanter, Collins, Leonard and Skal get the opportunities..we're lucky we have 4 7fter's left with Nurk down..I really expect Meyers, Enes and Zach to bring it heart and soul every night for the big beast...

Unfortunately I was at BOTH as well.....and the Greg game and the Przybilla game and the Steve Blake game and BRoy and the list goes on and on and on.....maybe it is me.
They need to start making you sit in the center of the plane so it's not tilted one side for hours at a time...this explains a lot...like walking on a hillside..damn dude!
