This is easier said than done. As the GM for OKC in our mock draft, good luck.

So they are trying to dump Adams? I always felt he was over rated by many Blazer fans but wow that surprises me....just to avoid the Luxury tax.

25 million dollars for someone that got benched in the playoffs against Kanter is why.

A Kanter with one good shoulder at that...

Adams is quickly turning into a later years Tyson Chandler.

Yeah, I like Adams plenty, and at the same time recognize that often, big Cs like that will get pushed out of the game situationally often enough where you're likely not getting 34-36 minutes a night out of them. Which is fine. But I think you can have 2-3 guys on the roster giving you a similar impact making that much, potentially.

Yep the guy he was benched for seems to fit better and he has a player option I am sure he will opt out at since it is only at 1.9. Noel can run. Adams can not. They need both but not at that price.

Man, stop with that. We all know how injury prone both of them are. Now you're minimizing.

Both of them are on massive, albatross like deals and both of them are very injury prone. These are facts.

Absolutely true. People need to separate that from the fact that Blake is clearly the better player. If you pay for the hypothetical "healthy" Blake, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

What is even more baffling to me are the people who think that even a young, healthy Love would be worth his contract. (let alone the real world Love) :dunno:

Who is going to be OKC’s starting center? And that German with the bleach spot played damn well for them last season.

Not sure about that, I can see him wanting to hook ring chase at his age.

Its not ring chasing.

It’s the fact that he’s gonna get 100 million and Boston is offering him “not even close to that”

It is pretty telling, imo, that negotiations broke off pretty much immediately and reports were “yeah, they’re an ocean apart.”

Honestly can’t fault the C’s. I’d be surprised if they were offering more than 3/60.

What amazes me is that people are still talking about "worth" when it comes to contracts. We're going into year 4 with 1 minimum level player getting paid 11 million, 1 minimum level player getting paid 18M, and 1 tax-MLE level player getting paid 11M. Yeah Love may not be worth 34 million, but he's giving you a lot more production for those 34 million than the three guys we're paying now!

Bro, did somebody hack your account? You are killing it on here lately! Nice post!

Aaaannnnnnd... Injured in the playoffs....

I’m not sure this year is the greatest example.

I feel like Detroit held him out because they knew they were gonna get creamed, particularly after Game 1.

Blake was trying to play. His other injures were injuries he couldn’t even try to play through, which is why I think Detroit was (smartly) being cautious.

I bet he would’ve given it a go if he was on a few other, better, teams.

I watched that series. He was hobbled just like he always is in the playoffs. He shouldn't have "given it a go".

The fact that they had to be cautious with him is the point.

I'm not sure why this is lost on so many people and that his injury history is consistently spun and spoke about in a convoluted way.

@BonesJones even had the nerve to say (not in this forum) that since he's played 70% of his games that he has a 70% chance to play.

Now I know he's better at math than me but... That's not good math. Playing 70% of your games doesn't mean you have a 70% chance to play.

I don't care what he brings if he's not going to be healthy enough to bring it in the playoffs.

OregonLive says they are looking to shed salary so the can make a run at Jimmy Butler. Seems like a lot of salary would have to be dumped.

Edit: Oops. The Rockets are the ones interested in Butler. Straight salary dump for OKC.

We screwed up, so let's double down? Not sure I like that approach!

70% = 70%.

You act with certainty that isnt there.

You understand that with Dame and CJs contracts on the books there is no avenue for the Blazers to ever seek out any more of these value long term contracts. While we still have the ability to, I’d like to move our deadweight for guaranteed production, even if it’s a bit overpaid.

I see your point - I'm just not convinced Love is "that guy." Keep in mind I am one of the guys who rolled their eyes at the notion of trading LMA for Love back in the day.

Well Dame did say he was going to go after Butler. I guess nobody really took him that serious.

whwn the weather bureau says a 40% chance of rain, doesn't mean its going to rain 40% of the day !

Heat just pid 1.88 million for the 44th pick, have we maxed out our outgoing cash for the year yet?

So, being raped is better than being raped and cut?
Sure, but why not let them expire and not be raped at all?

Love played 22 games last year, not what I'd call "guaranteed production".
