Conley is a really good fit there.Conley to Utah with Jae Crowder + Kyle Korver + Picks according to Shams.
That would be so stupid of Barnes. He just turned 27 so he'd be 28 next summer. Why not accept your option make 25 million and then sign that same 4 year deal next summer? He will easily get at least $15million a year from them. I think they will agree to 4 years $60million and the remaining $10million of their cap space will go towards Horford deal (I think they will be the ones to offer him a long term contract).
They seem to have way more cap available than that.
And yes Horford makes a ton of sense for them since they are not high on Cauley-Stein and they are about to let him walk.
That list is a little misleading because it's what each team could potentially have if they renounce all/most of their free agents.I think our hopes of getting Hood below market just got dashed. Too much money out there and not enough (good) players. Prolly a better idea to punt this summer and try to get in on a trade at the deadline.

I don't see any way Horford opts out of 30 mil for a 4 year deal starting at 10mil a year. He would be better off opting in and collecting the 30 mil and then go after a new contract the following season.
Havent seen them mentioned, but the clippers would make a lot of sense for Horford. If they're sitting on about 50 million in space, getting him and a few other smaller pieces would make a good offseason
Still doesn't address the lack of shooting for Utah - Conley better than Rubio, sure, but Crowder was probably their best wing.
Horford is supposedly getting 4/100 from someone...
Some people think Mavs
TThere is going to be at least 20-30 guys who sign this summer that everyone will be like "wow, he signed for that cheap?"
We actually no longer have albatrosses, we have ending contracts which are actually valuable - especially at the deadline.Fuck it. In light of this Conley trade, I'd be willing to trade 3 1sts for Griffin. 25 + 2 future firsts or 25 + 1 future first + Simons.
I'll even give two firsts for Kevin Love if they take all 3 of our albatrosses and they throw in JR Smith's partially guaranteed contract. Should open up some room for the full MLE.
Posted this in the Conley thread, but Love and Griffin aren't really the analogs to Conley. Conley has a much shorter contract and an ETO in 20-21, while Griffin's will end in 22 and Love i n23.Fuck it. Griffin and Love, now THOSE are albatrosses.
Why not though?Nope.

What money?Why not though?
He's not wrong. The roster in March/April is more important than what comes out after August.
He is rumored to re-sign with Boston and Brooklyn is showing strong interest.
Haters gonna hate.Given that the market is glutted with expiring deals, why would our expiring deals have value? It's simple supply and demand.

Lover gonna love.
Expiring Contracts gonna expire.
Even if you're right, and the contracts have little value to other teams (which I don't think is right),
they have value TO US - they expire.
We have their replacements right now. We won't get cap space, but we will get valuable cap flexibility.
