Sucks, but true. I’ve seen more than one colleague commit career suicide just to keep his wife happy. In one case the wife then monkey-branched to a new guy who made more money.
Wonder what the good books say's about husband & Wife?

Sometimes fella's, it just come down to where you want to live.

Like many professions where people have had the opportunity for advancement but required moving, many don't do it because they prefer to live where they have fam & friends and a neighborhood they are comfortable with.

I had an opportunity to run a US Company branch in Toronto for all of Canada and turned them down, for that very reason. Money isn't everything...
Free agency gives players the choice to sign and play for certain teams. That is up to them. Good luck is all I can say. I will still hate the Lakers no matter what. :biglaugh:

I really hope we fill a couple spots with some vets, Joakim Noah and Jeremy Lin would be outstanding additions.

Get a hobby, go to work, find a women.....there is SO much more going on in the world son.

I've worked a lot; I have some hobbies; and I've 'found' some women. 2 out of 3 ain't bad

way back in my younger days I spent time working in Alaska. A lot of guys were up there working while their wives and girlfriends were back in the lower 48. It was really the horny north back then. We had a saying: "women...you can't live with them and you can't live without them". One good thing about getting older is realizing that only the first part of that saying is true

Kawhi needs to make up his mind. What a pre madonna

We can still conceivably win the world championship next season without KL depending on how we fill out the rest of the team.

So, I am hearing once the Davis trade officially goes through tommorow, the Lakers won't have as much to sign Kawhi?

Did they ban you yet?

I don't think money is the issue with this dude.

I think money is what it's about. Yeah it would be nice to play in his hometown, but I doubt he wants to play with broken ass Lebron and Davis on a team where he us not #1.

Toronto are the defending champs. They can come back with the same team. They can pay him the most. Why go to the Fakers?

Dwight Howard will be a free agent after Memphis buys him out.... GET HIM

I think he’ll be in the same boat as Cousins. Why take the minimum to be a backup/3rd stringer when there will be better opportunities elsewhere?

Howard is gonna be 34, he is definitely the type to take the min to be a backup on a contender.

I thought they took care of that by trading the rest of what was left of their roster to Minnesota or Washington or some other team that's lost.

Maybe but there are teams that could use a starter/backup. San Antonio, LAC, Boston, Warriors, Dallas for example. All Portland can offer is a backup role for a couple months and then third string.

Probably would be more than a couple months and he’d be great injury insurance, none of those teams listed are close to contention either. At his age, that matters.

Portland could say "Once Nurkic is back, we'll probably look to move Whiteside so you'll remain the backup C. If we don't move Whiteside and you want out because of it, we'll work with you to trade you to a good destination".

That would never happen. Are you nuts? What if Dwight went and told Hassan that?
