Blake Griffin's had better but that was definitely good. Coulda had Barnes on our team. Whatever. Another draft fail. They keep piling up.

A dunk is a dunk! Summer league, Olympics, playoffs..... I don't give a fuck if its up at the park. And Kemp's dunk was over Chris Gatling and it was NASTY!

Tom Chambers over Mark Jackson is the best ever.

so you prefer him to Lillard?

Interesting D-League information.

7. Salaries remain flat: $25,500, $19,000 and $13,000 for the league's three player classifications. Which means D-League players are virtually playing for free -- and a modest per diem on the road of $40 compared to $120 in the NBA -- although they do receive housing and insurance benefits. It was also brought to my attention this week that the D-League quietly does have a per-team salary cap of $178,000 ... with a dollar-for-dollar luxury tax, just like in the NBA, for teams that go over that amount.

8. Foreign teams that want to pull players out of the D-League must pay $40,000, $45,000 or $50,000, depending on the player's classification, to buy out their D-League deals.

9. Something to look forward to: Perhaps this will be the first season that an NBA team sends a top-shelf veteran down to its D-League affiliate for a Major League Baseball-style rehab assignment. Imagine, for example, Minnesota sending Ricky Rubio to Sioux Falls for a game or two to test his knee in game conditions. That option wasn't available to NBA teams in the previous labor agreement and will be seized upon one of these days.

10. The D-League will continue to employ international goaltending rules that allow players to knock the ball away immediately after it touches the rim. Another one of last season's innovations -- three-minute overtime periods -- also remains in place.

I was shocked by those salaries. There's GOT to be some awkwardness when high-paid rookies get sent down there.

$13,000 per season is something like $35 per hour if you figure it's for 1/3 of a year and maybe 20 hours of work per week. (Not counting travel as work.). $25,500 would be double the 35.

How wrong was Rice about Drummond (age:19)?

PER36: 15 PPG 12 RPG 2.2 BPG

Advanced: 23 PER 63 TS% 99 DRtg 4.7 BLK%

Oden's last year (age: 22):

PER36: 16.7 PPG 12.8 RPG 3.4 BPG

Advanced: 23.1 PER 65 TS% 100 DRtg 7.7 BLK%

Drummond was dominant during pre-season and has continued to play very well.

I'm wondering why Drummond is getting so little burn on such a shitty team though.

Why were we so wanting freeland to come to Portland? The dude is just one of the worst big men we have on our team

He played great against NBA bigs (Olympics/Qualifiers) and was probably the best overall C last year in the FIBA.

The speed of the NBA game has rendered him into what you see -- lost and shooting 6%.

Freeland looks surprisingly unathletic, too. Wasn't he injured a couple of years ago? Remember when he came to summer league in Oden's rookie year and was dunking all over the place. Now he gets blocked at the rim all the time.

Freeland used to have some decent spring:

Just showed Rice your comment and his comeback is...............

# 8 pick on a 3-10 team SHOULD have stats!

WHat has he done to win games....... besides being the 8th pick!

My boy just set you straight!!!!!!

come on, even rice has got to admit drummond flipped a switch, hes not the same prospect he was 6 months ago, he is actually trying now

Steve Jones once had a comment about Rice from their time working together. Something like, "Mike Rice is a magician. He can talk his way out of any argument. At least, in his own head."

Nuggets have quietly started performing like they were supposed to all along. Can we institute a board-wide ban on mentioning Kenneth Faried?

not while he's putting up a 21 PER in 30 mpg and leading the league in offensive rebounding. In related news, Nolan Smith can't beat out Ronnie Price for minutes.
