Kobe ended up with 41 shots......... when he scored 81 point, he had 46 shots!

I was gonna comment earlier... I was actually at the game. I remember it well because I'm a Michigan State fan just as much as I'm a Grizz fan, so I was pumped to catch Z-Bo playing NBA ball, and I was the only asshole cheering the whole game for him, rocking a mix of Grizz and MSU gear.

42/12... and if I recall correctly, that was his break out game. Wasn't he in a complimentary role before that game?

No.

The thing those two games have in common though... the Lakers got the W.

As far as "Around the NBA" goes though, the Grizz/Rockets game has gotten me really bummed out heading into the holidays. The Grizzlies played a great game... at least the kind of game that would usually put away a fringe playoff team... and they wound up getting drilled. The Rockets just wouldn't miss from the perimeter. It was one of those games where your team plays great defense play after play, and yet the opponent keeps hitting the contested three.

One thing that has really come to light as of late for the Grizz's defense (which was the best in the league in terms of opponent ppg) is that they've had problems getting back in transition as of late. That's pretty fixable though, and a lot of that has to just do with the team's ball control and hustle, so I'm not too concerned with that at this point.

I had to look that one up, and you're right,... I was thinking of the 31/20 game he had against the Grizz in '03, not his 40/12 game in '07.

That game in '03 was the one I was at where he was a role player and broke out.

I've been a season ticket holder for the Grizz since day one, so some of these games seem to blend together, haha.

Yes. Then everyone wanted Zach and wanted to get rid of Sheed. Then everyone wanted Aldridge and to get rid of Zach. Now everyone wants to get rid of Aldridge.

6 games straight lebron hasnt been called for a foul

I just looked up where he ranks in the league in fouls, and he's sitting at #241, tied with the Blazers own Sasha Pavlovic.

An alleged "All Defensive Team" player is #241 in fouls, despite playing 38 mpg...

Refs don't want to lose their XMAS bonus by calling fouls on The 'Bron!

Anyone else catch the Rockets/Bulls game tonight? It was probably the most uninteresting game out of the bunch, but it was the only one I was able to catch with all the holiday stuff, and I'll be damned if Omer Asik did not look worth the money he got paid this offseason.

Houston is on a real roll right now. Tonight against the Bulls, the Rockets got out to a 20-30 pt lead and sorta just toyed with them. They also just blew out my Grizz, in a game where the Grizz actually played a hell of a game, but Houston just played almost the perfect game.

A lot of credit should be given to Harden and Lin, but Asik has really been playing at an All-Star level as of late. Who knows if he'll keep this up, but the way he's played his last few games, and especially the way he's developed offensively over the course of the season, his contract is actually looking like a steal. 20 pts, 18 rbs, 3 blocks tonight in a very efficient performance...

It's funny... we all thought the Rockets struck out this offseason, but all of their moves have actually panned out way better than expected. I figured they'd be in store for a rough rebuilding process, but now they've got one of the league's best young cores with Harden-Asik-Lin... three other contenders' castaways.

I actually thought Houston was doing a good job rebuilding even without Harden, now with and Asik's improvements, I'm very impressed.

The team that really got fucked this off season is Orlando.

Wow, the Clipp show pulled one out of the fire, tonight. They're certainly legit.

But nobody in LA knows !

screwed again by a superstar center leaving for nothing. My solution is that we pay the players twice as much money but on non-guaranteed contracts. That would solve a lot of issues with the NBA.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--b...setback-following-knee-surgery-195014930.html

Roy, 28, has considered the possibility of retirement for the second time in three years, sources said, but no final decision has been reached. Doctors continue to have questions about whether his knees can withstand the grind of playing in the NBA.Roy had surgery on his right knee on Nov. 19 and left the team again for further tests after returning to practice on Thursday.

Guess this isn't a shock to 99.9% of Blazers fans

If the Wolves had signed Batum, he would be their best player. The Wolves are garbage.

Luis Scola had his best game of the year against Kevin Love and the Timberwolves

I'm shocked

:biglaugh:

Sac is seriously a mess. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...rcus-cousins-sacramento-kings-maloof/1798287/

The decision to reinstate Cousins on Dec. 24 was made unilaterally by the team's owners and went against the wishes and planned protocol of the team's front office, according to three people with knowledge of the situation who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation. Specifically, one person with knowledge of the situation said Kings co-owner Gavin Maloof initiated a dialogue with Cousins on Dec. 23, had him discuss the situation with Smart and then made it clear that Cousins would return to the team the following day at practice.

And now the owners want 500 mil for the team? ahahah. These guys are deluded.

The last NBA sale, with the Memphis Grizzlies in October, went for a reported $377 million. Prior to that, the New Orleans Hornets reportedly were sold for $338 million. The Golden State Warriors were sold for a league-record $450 million in July 2010. But the Maloofs, who have consistently said they don't want to sell, are confident they could reach that $500 million figure because of the potential mobility of the franchise -- the Kings can get out of their lease at Sleep Train Arena at any time.

Has David Lee leapfrogged Kevin Love as Best White American Power Forward? Serious question. They've certainly made big moves in opposite directions this season.

So Royce White refuses to be sent down to the D-League because of his medical disorder? What exactly did he expect when he got drafted?

It's funny (but not funny "ha ha") because they travel everywhere by bus in the D-League.

They don't? Well shut mah mouth.

Who's James Anderson, and why have the Rockets just waived Daequan Cook so that they can sign him to a three-year contract?

Wow, that's a pretty damn surprising move.

He was a pretty forgettable player on some pretty forgettable Oklahoma State teams in college. He averaged a lot of points, but I always saw him as just an empty scorer. I didn't realize there was anything more to his game.

In unrelated news, Quincy Pondexter is out for up to a month -

Pondexter has been diagnosed with a grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee and could miss a month, but no timetable has been set for his return, the Commercial Appeal reports. (about 6 hours ago

I know he's only averaging 7 ppg, but that actually leads all bench scorers for the Grizzlies, and we don't really have any good replacements for him, so that's a huge blow to our bench.

Daequan Cook would be a perfect fit, especially with the Grizzlies' struggles from the perimeter. The move makes too much sense to actually happen though.

Cousins had a triple double tonight. We should try to get him. Matthews for Cousins and Brooks? We got JJ for free afterall.

Love broke his hand early in the season and hasn't been able to find his shot. Love is still much better than Lee.
