different situation. the shot clock wasnt turned off. Lakers had to take one more shot or have a shot clock violation. With Dame, he didn't have to shoot and you're not supposed to shoot in that situation.

I could very easily be wrong, because I've only seen the GIF, have not seen actual video or anything, but the GIF makes it look like he whips around at the finish almost hoping that he baited someone into being able to call a T on them.

Back in like '05 I was working a playoff run with TNT and was flying back and forth from LA to PHX and Denver for about 3 weeks and I actually sat next to him on a flight TWICE! Saw my Blazer hat and struck up a conversation. He was surprised I knew who he was....... said he loved our town and thought our fans were some of the best in the league. Left a real good impression on me actually.

The non-stop whining and shit from whippersnappers who make up to a hundred time their salary that referees have to take makes me forgive a lot. They have to keep order, so it's small wonder that some of them have outsize personalities.
