I don't think every addition to this team was minimal. Two bright spots on this team I think can be Baldwin IV and Trent Jr. Now whether they will get enough playing time.... that's another story.

Asked who looks to have made a leap from last year, Dame talked up Meyers, of all people. Said he always tells Meyers that he looks good, but that it was different this year. That he came in with a different energy. Not "loud Meyers", but out there just playing ball and playing well--challenging at the rim, making shots, and simply doing his job.

Cautious optimism.
I've had it ever since Nards got on the court last year.
I don't know if being that last year was his first off-season he could really stay in the gym due to health.
I don't know if the game just started to slow down for him. But he looked better.
Dare I say Nards deserved more minutes last year than he got.
However Davis was clearly better than him last year and Nards is not a 4.

One of the reasons why I believe Portland let Davis walk is because of the season Nards had last year. Nards looked like an NBA role player.
They're confident between him, and Collins the backup 5 is on lock.
However if Nards comes in and regresses, it will be a mistake letting Davis go. Even if Collins & Nurk both show out.
Until we see how Nards plays, we won't know.

I'm one of the biggest Nards haters. I will also be very salty if Nards plays well and we get constant threads by swish3

I'm not even a Meyers hater (more of a Meyers agnostic), but seriously who is his target market? I can't see anyone paying a premium price for Meyers Leonard branded apparel. It just feels like he's finally admitted the basketball thing was just a side gig and his true calling is, and has always been, male model.

I didn't intend for that to sound mean, but it still does. I actually hope he can make some positive contributions this year - build on his MINOR success from last year. Anything we get out of him will be an unexpected bonus. A (relativity) successful campaign also increases his trade value from negative to neutral as an expiring contact going into next summer.

That sounded mean, too. Oh well, to be fair and balanced: he has nice hair and an attractive wife.

Not true at all. His per was essentially 16 and 10 last year. Way better. the year before he was injured and the two year before that he was sitting around 14 and 9-10. Last year he played well for the minutes he played. Some just don't want to see it or admit it. And then there are those that will say "But for 10 million".... Well try to get yourself another 7 footer for much less. Bash him all you want but at least be truthful.
