Yes you nailed it! If we lose tonight then this season is more or less guaranteed to be a one and done playoff team at best. We can be certain this team was an early season fluke. We should think about making a trade.

Yeah its pretty stupid. I would say game 3 when a team is down 0-2 is a must win, no team in the history of basketball has come back from losing one of those. Obviously elimination games are must win. Outside of that some games are more important than other but none are must win.

I'd say regular season division games against an opponent we may finish near in the standings are the biggest games; the most important games of the regular season. A game like that can give one team a win, the competition a loss, and determine a tiebreaker. That in effect can have the impact of three games at once. Outside of that NBA regular season games are fairly interchangeable. I'd rank this Pelicans game as one of the least critical of the season. We don't expect to finish near them in the standings, they are not an elite team we can use to judge the potential of our squad, and its a game on the road. A win would be nice; but a win is just as nice at any time of the year.

This will be the Pelicans third game in four nights, although they had last night off. They were @Houston 12/28 and hosted Denver on 12/27.

He was a backup point forward in the late 70's and well into the 80's. The game was much higher scoring back then.
