Sign me up...... I'm broke and desperate to get things back to "normal".

If people won't wear masks do you really think they're going to get the vaccine?

"Normal" might not happen for years.
The vaccine comes in two phases. It might be a challenge getting everybody on board with getting the vaccine. Especially when you hear that some doctors and nurses fear that after getting the first vaccination and seeing the side effects people won't want to come back for the second.

I dont know if I necessarily agree with "years".

I think this is going to be streamlined a bit faster than that... and with that, I think more people are gonna get on board probably by may/june next year. And with that, "normal" will become like the flu is now. People will either take the shot or not, and the risks associated with it - and also the freedoms of it.

You do also have to take into account that peoples livelihoods are in shambles, and perhaps "anti-vaxxers" will feel the need to take it to get back to "normalcy" (though that may create a whole other set of problems)... perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, this might turn some people around on the idea of vaccines.

Source: My own pie-in-the-sky-wishing-to-get-back-to-normal. Not peer reviewed, but I am looking through a sociological and psychological framework... so, in the end, who the fuck knows.

I don't trust the vaccine. Its rushed with no long term studies. Its a brand new action to fight a disease that has never been done on a large population.

Eventually, I'll probably be forced to take it or hell, maybe it will start working, but I'll let everyone go before me and see how they get all fucked up first. Go ahead and be the test dummy for this.

They'll end up refining it probably to minimize these side effect. The rushed first wave of the vaccine is basically having the public be the test dummies.

I have absolutely NO problem with them UK being the initial crash test dummies. Might even be fun to watch if they start dropping over, losing or gaining body parts, etc, etc.

Well, that could be from the inbreeding.

I've heard that it hurts like a mother fucker and makes you deathly ill like the worst case of flu you ever had. But then again, maybe my wife was just kidding me.

It's my understanding that the first shot is "a primer" and the second shot is "a booster" and any sides effects are typically worse after the second shot, if at all....It's also my understanding that only about 10-15% of people who participated in the clinical trials had any side effects other than a sore arm for 24 hours.

Airlines forcing vaccination?
Employers forcing vaccination?

I sure as hell hope not, but im guessing its a > 50% chance they will

They need to see just how long this vaccine lasts. They are hoping for at least 3 months but we don't really know for sure.

airlines will enforce it and my bet is so will Europe, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, and most of Asia.

And I'm all for it!
And at the workplace as well. As somebody who has only worked a few days since March....... I will take anything that can get me back to work!

I know it can be tough in the winter months when nobody's lawn grows for you to cut.

The lasting effect is the big question. I heard Sanjay Gupta on Anderson Cooper last night say they really don't know how long the vaccine will last once you get it.

Airlines, I can see happening internationally.

Employers? I don't know, they can open themselves up for liability if there is a lawsuit. I know vaccine makers are immune, but if an employer mandates this and there are some side effects, there could be some lawsuits or someone going postal on them.

Won't Joe Biden and Kamala Harris want to mandate it?

They may want to. Will they? Doubtful, there would be huge blowback.

The whole thing about immunity passports and restricting movements if you don't have them, etc? Just don't see them pushing that yet when they can barely mandate a national mask policy or lockdown.

This is much easier to enforce, though. Mask policies and lockdowns take a lot more policing. Hopefully they do it. I'm also in favor of employers requiring vaccinations but that, again, is hard to enforce a government mandate on.

Lawsuits on what grounds? They wouldn't be forcing anyone to vaccinate, they'd be setting rules for working for them. There's nothing you can sue for.
