I am a Republican and love blue collar workers. I just don't like unions

Speaking of unions. LeBron James took an active role in Saturday's NBPA meeting that resulted in the firing of executive director Billy Hunter.

Hunter's business practices were subject to an audit that showed, amongst other things, that his most recent contract was never properly approved.

James “practically cross-examined” the lawyers who prepared the audit, according to someone in the room.

“It was spectacular,” said the person who was in the room.

Chris Paul is the only superstar in the union's executive committee.

James is respected by his peers for his place as one of the unquestioned best players in the world, but also for his business savvy and ability to connect with everyone.

James has not take a prominent role in union politics up until this point in his career, but the Miami Heat have several active members. James Jones is on the executive committee, while Shane Battier and Ray Allen are intelligent, outspoken veterans. The Heat have held many discussions about union issues over the past few months.

“He recognized that this was the time to have a very serious discussion about the future of the players association,” said one person who spoke to James on Saturday. “He wanted to make his voice heard.”

Portland still willing to move J.J. Hickson, but hasn't found an appealing offer yet, sources tell Y!

Keep him and either sign and trade him in the off-season (if teams are wanting to pay him a lot) or keep him for a decent contract as an energy player off our bench.

Hickson will want what's best for him. Waiting until after the season to go on the free agent market might garner him more $$$ in the long run.

We won't get a decent pick for Hickson. He has a no trade clause in his contract so he'll just a veto a trade to a shitty team.

Chris Broussard-

Atlanta front office saying Josh Smith will be dealt for sure by the deadline.

You have to think with the report that came out a couple of weeks ago that teams were contacting Hickson's agent, that those the ones that got the a-okay, are the ones talking to Portland and Olshey

Would you do this 3 way trade, it works on the ESPN trade machine...Portland gets Terrence Ross and Rip Hamilton Chicago gets Andrea Bargnani and Wes Mathews Toronto gets Carlos Boozer Nolan Smith and a 2nd round pick from Portland.

I'm a blue collar worker, I don't know much.

It means contradiction.

It would be nice if you could keep your insecurities on the OT board.

There is no apostrophe in "Republicans", btw. Or in "Democrats", either.

Are we playing alphabet soup Papa Daddio?

I started the insecurity burn, nice to see you follow suit.

You already know who I am. Is it too much to ask to keep this on the OT board?

No, it doesn't mean contradiction.

"is a figure of speech that combines contradictory terms"

Sweet sorrow.

Dark light.

Living dead.

Jumbo shrimp.

It's usually two words that don't usually belong together that are put together.

Several teams willing to part with first-round picks for Cavs PF Marreese Speights, but most in 20-30 range. Nothing enticing Cavs at moment

Maybe JJ would be a good fall back plan for some of those teams?

I have completely accepted that we most likely won't make a trade before the deadline.

Eh, how often do sign and trades happen though?

True but in this scenario it's not for talent for talent. It would be more like resigning hickson for a lop sided trade to make salaries work. We are looking at free agents; but we may see a deal for an existing contract player.
