So any guesses and when our first signing will be? And who

I'll go with Monroe as our first meeting.

First meeting this... Unless he meets wih DJ.

Nobody say the Hibbert move. Dunno if I can even pretend to know what Olshey is up to. Nobody saw it coming, including Woj. So, imma say anything is possible.

How funny would it be if olshey got a meeting with say, Gasol?

Is there any chance if we lock up agreements with Monroe and potentially another big free agent we just say fuck it and renounce LaMarcus?

Tim Duncan will join Tony Parker and Gregg Popovich as part of the San Antonio Spurs' contingent when they meet with Portland Trail Blazers free agent LaMarcus Aldridge on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Manu Ginobili are among several free agents the Spurs have this summer. Duncan and Ginobili have yet to formally announce their plans.

Duncan assisted in the courtship of Jason Kiddwhen Kidd visited San Antonio as a free agent in 2003, but this is believed to be the first time he has traveled as part of a recruiting pitch. Parker will be flying to Los Angeles from China, where has been on a promotional tour.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks, Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns are among Aldridge's suitors, but a source close to the situation said the Spurs are currently the frontrunner. Aldridge is from Dallas, but has an offseason home in Orange County, south of Los Angeles. His representation agency, Wasserman Media Group, is based in Los Angeles.

Aldridge averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks for the Blazers last season. He has averaged at least 20 points and eight rebounds in each of the past five seasons.

San Antonio played in two straight NBA Finals, winning in 2014, before losing its first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers this past season. A frontline anchored by Aldridge, Duncan and forward Kawhi Leonard, who is expected to re-sign as a restricted free agent, would help their chances of again contending in the Western Conference.

LA and his agent are meeting Duncan in So Cal. For Duncan to met him there prooves he wants to play another year and give LA keys to the kingdom. LA may enjoy playing for Popovich and that may be the tantalizer.

Hopefully LMA will see that Pops is almost as old as Duncan and can't be relied upon for the rest of LMAs career.

Here is what is happening.

1. Aldridge has truly told Olshey that he is gone and hence our focus has shifted away from him.

Or

2. Aldridge wants to see what Olshey can bring in to POR before rejecting us.

If Neil can pull a trade or get a major FA to commit before Aldridge makes his decision, we might still be able to keep him. If not, he's gone. I think this rules out RFAs

@JakeLFischer: With conflicting reports suggesting where LaMarcus Aldridge is leaning, what league executives do mostly agree on: LMA's done in Portland.

What's so great about LA anyway? He's a good one on one defender, average at team defense. He's got a good post up game but spends too much time on the perimeter. He's one of the least efficent scorers in the league. He's not a good passer, he's a black hole on offense. Not sure why some people think he's so great.
I don't know. Maybe ask the other 29 teams that would offer him max.
