I'll take that. That's as high of a compliment from a married man to another married man about his wife.

If you went to a Providence clinic in Portland for a wheelchair seat evaluation some years ago you might have already met her.
Got two wheel chairs. One is the standard size and the other is a little smaller and more suitable for traversing our windy hallway. This hulk that used to leg press 560 lbs. while I weighed 180 lbs. and at age 53 cannot stand up when I fall down. Last time I fell down was on my tiled shower floor and it took me half an hour to get up with my wife's help and a grab bar. I've got two grab bars in my shower and gonna get three more installed there today.
I used to love working out 2 1/2 hours five days a week. And those were intense workouts. Now, I get tired lifting my fork to my mouth. This really does something to me.

Browsed through all the photos on this thread (I’m quarantining, not much else to do), and I have to say you guys were right about @THE HCP and @andalusian being great photographers. Even to my untrained eyes, you guys clearly have the talent for photography. Kudos to you both!

Hard to pick a favorite as there are so many beautiful ones (great photos from a couple of other posters as well), but the one that stood out most to me is the close up shot of the dragonfly that @andalusian took. The insect of my childhood in VN. Used to catch them all the time. They’re beautiful. I have a tattoo of one.
Agreed, @andalusian has a fantastic eye.

Hey look how big this Buffalo “pie” is. For scale, that yellow controller is 10.5” long. Not the most beautiful pic but I felt it was impressive enough to share. I was working on a one of the largest buffalo ranches in WY when I captured this beauty. I’d say she’s 20+ inches from tip to tail.

More like two feet wide and one and a half feet wide at the base.
When I was about 12 went to visit a farm way out beyond the suburbs of Idaho. The brother of the family I was staying with had a dairy farm. I visited the farm and his son, about 9, was showing me around. We got way out in some pasture and proceeded to show me how much fun it was to step barefoot into the crunchy exterior and force the mushy interior between his toes. The cow pies, as I recall, were somewhere around 8 or 9 inches in diameter. This thing you've shown us is more like what you'd expect from Godzilla.

Congratulations. You are going to be a daddy.

Also, why isn't your screen name SlyPokerPelican?
Brown Pelican, technically speaking, or BRPE in biologist speak.

There is also a Ring Billed Gull, a couple Laughing Gull, and Royal Terns in the view through my spotting scope. Or RBGU, LAGU, and ROYT.

Raw, in a shot glass, with Worcestershire and hot sauce.
I don't eat no stinkin' raw eggs although if you put a gun to my head the hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce would certainly help.

No raw eggs, no raw oysters, no raw beef, no raw human body parts, you're missing out, Lanny!
No, I do frequently eat raw oysters. Fanny Bays out of British Columbia's Vancouver Island are our favorites. I eat mine with lemon juice, a little horse radish, some cocktail sauce and tobasco sauce. Washed down with copious amounts of ice cold beer. One time we had our oysters at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse with a bottle of Dom Perignon. Have tried oyster shooters a few times but finally realized that I just can't eat the raw large oysters. We need ours very small. We usually eat a dozen as an appetizer but sometimes we have 1 1/2 dozen and a couple times we had 2 dozen. We love 'em.
Don't eat no stinkin' steak tartar although I do love a steak charred medium rare. Oh, and salmon must be medium rare or it gets too damned dry.

Posted this on another thread, but thought might as well post it here, too.

Photo was taken about a month before we left VN. Wife and daughter posed for picture at the high school she was teaching. Was plant a tree day. The banner on the building roughly translates to: Grow a tree and reap benefits for a decade, grow a person and reap benefits for a century.

I'm fully aware that I have little talent for photography, but I actually got this photo to published in a local newspaper. I guess the subject/s taken in a photo is all that matters. :bgrin:
