I'm a musicology fanatic....everything from Library of Congress field recordings of African tribal stuff to Opera...it's been the passion of my life. I achieved the highest rating ever given in my State music competition...an A++ ..I performed a Baroque piece by Chopin without sheet music...only solo memorized in the competition..my 15 secs of fame...played in orchestra and in the jazz band in high school

Pretty impressive, plus you're hijacking HCP's thread, so all the better.

I'm a big music fan, but my tastes aren't quite as eclectic as yours. The closest I get to African tribal music is the polyrhythms that Vampire Weekend and Paul Simon stole.

Check out old King Sunny Ade Juju Music and Fela Kunti's old stuff.....I like the Oud playing of Hamid Zamir from Morocco and a whole lot more..it's the roots of counterpoint and polyrhythm ...call and response...the stuff you hear in Paul Simon's stuff.

All the better, for if there is one universal take away I've gotten from all the past meet and greet threads, it's that when people from this forum actually make the effort to meet in person, they realize what a great bunch of guys we are that all share a common passion for our team.

Whatever the hell happened last night, wasn't cool. Never met HCP, don't care to. Been here for 2 years, never really talked to dude. I kind of find it ridiculous though that people on here create an excuse for him to just talk shit on people or "new people". It's not funny nor does it even sound like he is trying to make it an act. It appears as pretty real insults. Some of you have met him thats cool, the thing is people like me haven't and don't know his personality so why should we be expected to just know it's some joke? I mean maybe he should say some outlandish shit so that people actually know there is no way in hell this dude is serious. I guess I can say hey guys you don't know me in person but my insults last night at HCP were all jokes, not real it's just some character I play. It's ridiculous and it's one big excuse for him to be an asshole. Double standards I guess...

No double standards. Personal insults are not acceptable here. What happened last night is my fault. I didn't pay attention to the thread and things got out of hand. I'm sorry for that. Also we've added more staff to help keep things more friendly around here and to try and make sure what happened doesn't repeat.

While I was rather blunt, I hope it will encourage others to not take anything that happens here too seriously. Regardless who you are, or how long you've been here, it really is just a fan site about a team that plays a game for our entertainment. We're all passionate about our team, but hopefully we all also have more important things going on in our lives that help keep things that happen here in proper perspective.

Off day here in The Bay today and even though it was 48 and pouring sideways, Mr and Mrs The HCP decided to go site seeing. We hit up all the spots. While at Fishermans Wharf, we were walking on the right side of this narrow sidewalk with our umbrella opened as people coming the other way, both sides were trying to not bump into each other.

My head was down and I saw feet, I stopped not wanting to run into whoever was walking the wrong direction at us trying to run into a restaurant. Not a big guy, but he was coming at me like he wanted to punch me. I was kinda speechless, which is NEVER a problem. I said,"Relax man, I didn't even see you guys and YOU jumped in front of us!"
This guys takes a step towards me like he wants to go! His girl who was gorgeous by the way, looked at me, grabbed his arm and pulled him back. She smiled and worded with her mouth, "I'm so sorry"

At this point my wife started walking off.

The reason I was speechless 10 seconds prior was because as soon as the word "RELAX" came out of my mouth, I RECOGNIZED WHO THE FUCK IT WAS AND WAS COMPLETELY MIND BLOWN!

I would consider him a pretty big movie star and has been in huge blockbuster hits! I am/was a pretty big fan of his until this. He has a tons of history when it comes to getting arrested, drugs/alcohol....TMZ type stuff!

It seems that as soon as a good hazing get's going, the thread is either locked or somebody steers us off course back to the actual topic of the thread. So this angers me and I'm wondering if the powers that be, aka the Lord of The Nerds Sly might be willing to create a master thread where all hazing can take place in a calm and cool manner. A "Safe Place" if you will, where those who aren't as accomplished as myself or less knowledgable could have one place to stand their ground against a forum legend.

HCP’s behavior is very much like a long time friend of mine. Great guy, but for some reason he likes to ride people for no reason. I don’t mind a little of that sort of thing, and sometimes those jabs are a good way to get a message to someone.

However, when it takes on a life of its own and is overused only for the enjoyment of the jabber without any benefit to the recipient, it goes too far.

My friend also goes too far with it, much like HCP. One time our families took a week long vacation together, and his non-stop jabs got on my nerves. We are still friends; however, I spend way less time with him since that vacation. He still takes as many jabs as ever, even though I have told him he goes too far. For some reason he needs to ride people, but I do not understand why.

To me that sort of behavior is much like having an immature little brother always trying to get your attention. You wish they would take their obnoxious behavior somewhere else, but miss them when they are not around.

I don't know @HCP personally either but I can confirm he is a terrible human and I'm currently building something real special for him in my moms basement. Fuck you @HCP kiss my ass.

This is what I am saying, if he would of just been like dude, alright I am joking I would of been like whatever but HCP kept jabbing and got insults from me so then people here try and make me feel like the idiot just because I reacted to his constant jabs to the point where it really didn't seem like a joke. Like I said, those who know him probably got it but you have to take people like me into consideration that don't know shit about him. I could sit here and poke jokes into people all day but I don't because I don't know your personalities and I am not close with any of you, never met anybody. Why go at people you don't know and expect them to think it's a joke? people are fucking lame and crazy these days so yeah when he jabbed me a few times I just was like okay heres the guy that works for the organization that thinks he is the shit because that's what he puts out to those who don't know him.

I come here because I like it here and the different opinions. I wouldn't consider anybody here a fairweather fan at all. If you found this place chances are you are a pretty big fan and have been. Sure you have a couple Tunchis but whatever no harm done.
