I did some digging yesterday and watched some of their highlights. I want Afflalo over Chandler-- I think he can handle the ball well enough so he can play with CJ and not rely on Blake for play making.

Get him ~25 mpg a night behind Nic and Wes, and we should be good to go. CJ can still keep his 15 mpg to improve, just reduce Blake's mins.

Dame (34)/ CJ (8)/ Blake (6)
Wes (32)/ Afflalo (8) / CJ (8)
Nic (32) / Afflalo (16)
LA (34)/ Leonard (14)
Rolo (30)/ Kaman (18)

Spot mins for Joel and anyone else left on the roster.

I don't want Nic/Dame/LA reaching the high 30s until the playoffs.

That's a hefty price tag for a player who could bolt.

Factor in our UFA crop, I think Afflalo will be out of our price range.

Denver is in full rebuild mode, no way Afflalo re-signs there. This is blatantly greedy. They better sweeten the pot (Jokic).

Im pretty much there too. And I am ok with Chandler is Affalo doesnt happen. Maybe the right question is really which player is more willing AND able to accept the role as a go to player off the bench?

For sure. I hope Neil does some digging before making the move so chemistry is not disrupted too much.

My ideal fit oddly, would be Thad Young, but his price might be too high.

Oh and FYI, this is one of my favorite NBA days of the year even when the Blazers arent involved so I will be throwing out tweets like a rapper making it rain the strip club. My apologies in advance. :)

Keep 'em coming. I don't want to follow twitter, but I'm all for following S2.

Other tweets indicate the TWolves would go after him in a buyout. Thinking is between Flip and Sam Mitchell they would have some pull on Garnett

They better sweeten the pot (Jokic).

Why do you keep bringing up Nurkic? He's the one untouchable on that roster, they value him higher than any player including Lawson. He's not going to be some random throw in.

But if Afflalo really really did well here, we could resign him and Matthews, and let Batum walk. Then Matthews or Afflalo could play SF.

He said Jokic, the dude still in Europe.

Not Nurkic

Read again.

Jokic is a stashed second rounder from this past draft.

Not Nurkic.

I'm ok with Neil standing firm with our 1st rounder. Its worth a rental of Afflalo along with his bird rights. But we don't have any other 2nd rounders to trade. We have interesting young guys so we don't have to do any trade. It would be nice to have a pick this summer. I'd think Denver holds out for the best they can get than accepts our offer if its still best.

But if they stay firm and keep their roster so be it. First round picks are valuable and not grabbing one in a wasted season is silly on their end. They've made a lot of dumb moves since Ujuri left so who knows what they end up doing.

Chandler's advanced stats say he's not worth a first-rounder, let alone two.

ESPN's RPM ranks him nearly dead last for SF's in the entire league.

This.

But anyone who thinks Afflalo is a full time SF (next season) isn't realizing he's only 6'5".

I wonder if we are as interested in bringing in a wing if Batum were playing like his normal self? His down year is a real concern and especially in the playoffs when defenses exploit the weak offensive link. If we bring someone in they could take Nic's minutes at the end of games.

Don't think anyone thinks that. Next year he would be a fallback option in free agency at SG if for some unlikely reason Wesley leaves. Or a stellar bench option if Neil can work cap magic. Most likely he'd just be a rental but his bird rights would have value.

Both Wesley and Afflalo play SF sometimes at 6'5. Many players succeed at positions where they are a couple inches shorter than average. You have to look at what else they bring to the table.

Woj - "Nuggets want a first-round pick and a good young player for Afflalo."

Their asking price is too high. I wouldn't be surprised If that's a deal breaker - they probably want CJ or Leonard.

Imagine if you saw yourself saying that at the beginning of the year. But they've both looked good recently and that makes you not want to deal them for a guy who could bolt. But I'd trade our 1st and someone like Robinson/Kaman/Barton/Claver. Denver seems to be in love with Thomas Robinson types...

Same here. I think Neil is pitching them Barton/Robinson with our first - and not budging.

The Nuggets will blink. They can't just stand pat after this disaster of a season.
