Jay Mohr declares that the Blazers are absolutely the big winners of the trade deadline.

So a summary of significant player movement as I see it:

-Dragic to MIA
-Brandon Knight to PHX
-Isaiah Thomas to BOS
- Michael Carter Williams to MIL
-Afflalo to POR
-Reggie Jackson to DET
-Kanter to OKC
-Thad Young to BKM
-KG to Minny

Did I get everything?

Wow quite a bit of last minute movement.

Change MCW to MIL. Add Young to BKN

MCW to Bucks I believe

WTF, how did the Rockets end up with KJ McDaniels?! The kid has some game, but is an unrestricted FA this summer

The Timberwolves are just messing with us now. Might as well sign Sprewell while they are at it.

JR Rider and Szerbiack and then you have a squad.

Edit: it's a double rainbow!

Gosh, I won't say we overpaid, especially if Afflalo steps it up, but this was a crazy trade deadline, craziest I can remember. Phoenix went from having 5PGs and traded away three of them (Dragic, Ennis, Thomas), last year's ROY gets traded in MCW...nuts. I haven't fully analyzed how everything will shake out, but Phoenix is looking like they're giving up for the year, and Philly is hella committed to tanking. In the draft I remember them talking about drafting Elfred Peyton and trading MCW, but now who the hell is going to play in the backcourt for them.

I think that OKC are the winners of trade deadline day. They got rid of a malcontent inefficient volume shooter who they might have had to overpay as a restricted free agent, and in return got back Kanter, who's also an RFA but good and they traded small for big which is tough to do. In addition, they pick up DJ Augustin who's probably one of the better backup PGs in the league given his play the last two seasons, and Singler, who can shoot, which never hurts.

They now have 5 SOLID bigs in Adams/Ibaka/Kanter/Collison/McGary, and can always go small with Durant at the 4 if they want with Morrow or Singler at the 3 to space things out. They still have the enigma that is Perry Jones. Oh and there's Westbrook of course.

If you look at PER and other advanced metrics, it really looks like OKC made a hell of a trade. I'm concerned about them for when they make the playoffs.

Reggie Jackson was a PG that pushed tempo and kept the offense clicking when Westbrook was injured. Calling him a volume shooter isn't accurate to his role in the OKC system at all.

Kanter is a fairly solid C, but his defense is nothing special, which is their biggest need there.

OKC is talented, but I don't see this as a major upgrade/downgrade.
