Yeah, Anthony at PF would actually be really interesting and make our offense pretty spectacular.

Defensively.....we're not beating the Warriors anyways so might as well have some fun outscoring teams.

Would Anthony start at the 4? I see him at the 3 but with Aminu i dont know.
 
Ha. Fuck yes. Way to go Neil. We aren't just here to bend over for everyone else to make big splashy deals. I'm not a huge fan of Anthony but he's better than Anderson if we're going to be taking on another fat contract.
 
I think we should fuck Houston by facilitating Carmelo to Cleveland:

We send Leonard and Harkless to New York
Cleveland sends Shumpert, Frye, and Jefferson to us
Carmelo to Cleveland

I think we'd want a pick or something, as Shumpert is not some huge prize. But we would get out of some bad contracts long-term.

Or we could go all-in on Love. Not sure if this would be more appealing to Cleveland or not, but Aminu could be useful for defense against Durant maybe.

We send Leonard and Harkless to New York and Aminu to Cleveland
Cleveland sends Love and Frye to us
Carmelo/Aminu to Cleveland
 
I like the thought of Melo, never been huge fan of his game but he played great in the Olympics with other great players so it's in him to do it. Plus what do we really go to lose as long as we don't have to give up our rookies I'd make a trade for him. We'd sure be fun to watch
 
I wonder if it started with Houston and NY, they pulled us in, and then we realized as many of us had, that we were paying for Carmelo, but getting Ryan Anderson. Maybe he improves us, but not as much as Carmelo over Anderson helps Houston, and we said fuck it. Send Anthony here, or let someone else pay his price.
I wonder if it's to get Morey to up what WE get in return, or if he does want Anthony, and doesn't want Houston. Either way, fun times, and Woj seems to be the only guy who gets info about us , so there's that.
 
I'm not against Melo as long as he's willing to take a backseat to Lillard, CJ, & frankly Nurk.
He'll get his touches, but he's not a #1 option on this team like he is with the trash Knicks.

I have zero doubt Olshey is behind what Woj wrote about Portlands involvement. The question is the motive. I think he's trying to squeeze something extra out of Houston, as he should. "Oh no? Then we'll get Melo ourselves, bitch."

We have NYK and Houston by the balls. NYK wants Harkless badly, Hous cant get Carmelo without chucking Anderson who Portland and so far no other team will take. So either Houston finds another trade partner to take Anderson and help navigate the carmelo to hous trade, NYK gives in to hous and takes Anderson, NYK talks Carmelo into waiving his no trade clause to come to Portland, or he stays put and waits a year on a losing team.

Im on the fence about Melo coming here. Worse case he is a rental, opts out next year and leaves to houston. That would leave portland with some capspace. Best case he is persuaded to stay and mesmerized to play with the core of Dame, CJ, and Nurkic.

New York won't find anyone better than Harkless a third team is willing to give up for a deal that wouldn't end with them getting Carmelo.

Depends how bad NY wants Harkless. If they call Melo's bluff and continue to tell him he has to stay in NY it could happen.

I don't blame NY. Houston and Clevelabd are both offering shit for him.

I wouldn't be opposed to it either but I also doubt it. I want something to finally work out for us but he wants to go to Houston unfortunately
