Only way you take on Anderson is we can dump AC and Turner in the same deal.

It's kinda odd though. In that similar role, i like Anderson better than Melo

Sorry man. Just trying to be realistic. I don't think there's an option to do this trade without taking back Anderson.

Now that I've looked at the trade machine, here's my conclusion:

Houston: "We'll trade for Melo"
NYK: "Really, great. Wait, looking at your payroll Ryan "old shooter who shot 28 3FG% in the playoffs" Anderson must be part of any deal - that ain't gonna work."
Houston: "Let me get Neil on the line."
NO: "Ryan Anderson is a net negative. We'll take him if we get a draft pick, and an expiring Ariza."
NYK: "Neil, we only want young players, who ya got."
NO: "Tons of potential, but needs a change of scenery Meyers Leonard. How about Evan Turner?"
NYK: "Nice try Neil, make it Crabbe instead of ET".
NO: "OK, but you've got to get him to waive the trade kicker."
NYK: "Will do"

a few minutes later...
NYK, NO, Houston: "Done." "Done." "Done."

We save $2 mil right away, and we lose Davis's ($6.3mil) and Ariza's contract ($7.4mil) at the end of the year.

Frankly, if we're dropping that much money, I'd rather have Melo.......

Of course, he wouldn't come here.

If we get Ryan Anderson, Neil kind of went overboard on addressing the PF situation with Collins, Swanigan and Anderson. Which would lead one to believe Meyers and possibly Vonleh are on the way out.

From the NYK perspective, Harkless makes sense. He's still young, on a very reasonable contract and from NY. But, I'd much rather unload Crabbe's contract on them. Mo doesn't excel at anything, but is competent at most things. Crabbe excels at one thing and sucks at everything else - and he's older than Mo and makes twice as much.

Which brings me back to Anderson. When healthy, he's better than Crabbe, but he's also 4 years older, has never been the picture of health. His worst year is better than Crabbe's best year - that's the problem. This past season in HOU was the worst of his career (looking at advanced stats). That's a bit of a head scratcher for me. Most guys who play for Mike D'Antoni see about a 30% uptick in their offensive production. Anderson was kind of the opposite. Why? Was he already declining at 28? That's hard to believe since his game is based on shooting touch, not athleticism. Was it just a case of too many other shooters and only one ball in HOU? Harden, Gordon and Lou Williams all thrived under D'Antoni. Anderson, not so much.

To me, Crabbe's and Anderson's contracts are a wash. Crabbe is younger and healthier, in general, but Anderson is better, would start and play a bigger role. If only we were getting NOP Anderson, or especially ORL Anderson, it would be a no-brainer, but it seems those versions are long gone. At this point, Anderson is just as 1-dimensional as Crabbe, and I have been clamoring since last November that we need 2-way players at the forward positions. I think we have one in Collins, but if we make a trade that lands us Anderson, it makes me wonder how far out Neil and Terry think Collins is. Yep, only 19, young bigs take more time to adjust etc., but I want to see Collins get the minutes needed to accelerate his development and Anderson might delay that.

Unless we get something else of note out of this, besides Ryan Anderson, I think we're basically just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Read the name on the luggage tag.

I don't think that is fool proof evidence. Someone could easily have a tall friend, and work at an airport. Would be easy to fabricate, and I wouldn't put it past some people in society to do so for a bit of "fame".

Oh it's him alright.

If I was an NBA GM and wanted to send out some smoke screens to make other GMs panic and maybe up their offers, I'd hire celebrity look alikes and send them to other NBA cities.

Yep--I think Vonleh will get the Plumlee treatment this year. Unless we really break out to start this season and can justify giving Vonleh a huge contract then NO will have to trade Vonleh for something.

Sorry, I'm late to the thread. Haven't check out any other page but the first.

I saw a trade rumor on the first page of this thread for Harkless. I will be ROYALLY pissed if this happens. I really like this guy, and he fit in perfectly here.

Don't trade Harkless! The pick-and-roll with him and Nurk is a thing of beauty.

Everyone else though can get the fuck out. Especially Meyers.

Is this a criminal trial or a civil suit? I'd say it does not meet the burden of proof for a criminal trial (beyond a reasonable doubt, unanimous jury verdict), but does meet the burden of proof in a civil case (preponderance of the evidence, simple majority from the jury).

Not sure anyone is getting "famous" posting fake photos of NBA players and their luggage, but I suppose it could be a hoax just for the fuck of it.

They don't run the pick and roll. Hark just slashes to the bucket and finishes better than anyone on the team. But yes. DON'T trade him.
