I think it's funny that some of these fans won't even give up a 1st for Melo even with giving up Andersons contract lmao.

And some of them don't know that they already traded away their 2018 pick... They also think they can trade away their 2019 pick even though they traded away their 2018 pick...

Offensively, Favors and Anderson are closer together in talent wise than defensively. Favors is a very good defender, while Anderson is downright awful. While Anderson is a better fit offensively, he's not much more talented offensively.

Trading Favors for Anderson doesn't make Utah any better. It may improve there offense from a cohesion standpoint, but it results in a big decline in their defense (their identity), and puts them in a much worse situation in terms of cap space.

I think if Utah were to replace Favors with Anderson it would make them worse on both ends of the court.

Portland would never have taken that trade. They just shed Crabbe, who's younger, a SG version of Anderson, and was at a position of scarcity (SG). So you really think they'd do the opposite and take on Anderson, who makes even more than Crabbe, plays a position Portland already has a logjam at (PF), would trade away their starting SF, and help Houston get better?

Ok, I cannot find the article, so I retract that.

Uh, no, he can't opt in and pick a team to play for, obviously.

He could get traded and opt in, he could stay in NY and opt in, and then get traded, or stay...

Money doesn't affect anything in the situation. You said if he just wants money, he'd stay in NY. How is staying in NY going to earn him more money?

To be traded to another team before opting in, Melo would have to agree and the team would want to know if he was opting in or not.
I don't know too many teams that would take him if they knew he would make $28M next year. That is why I said for $, he would stay in NY.
Do you think he is worth $28M? (said inquisitively, not as a smart ass).

I do not think he is worth that, but in context of some of the truly terrible contracts, it isn't that bad. On the Allen Crabbe scale, Melo is definitely worth 28m.

Agree. Chupes is welcome. He roots for a disgusting team, but he can't help that, just like I was born with a birthmark in the shape of a dick on my back. Can't help that either.

Not joking.

There's a Harry Potter joke somewhere in there but I can't think of it.

Wait, I got it!

That means you're the true leader of Slytherin House.

I don't know this nerd language that you are speaking in. Can any of the basement dwellers here fill me in?

They have different styles of offense. Favors is more inside and rim protector on D. RA is more of distance shooter, and can play some D. He is underrated. Not great, but underrated. He is not a banger and gets muscles out against big 4s and 5s.
Like I said, if they wanted to switch to the 3 & D model, RA is a better fit. and with Gordon leaving and the team re-building, it's a good time to switch if you are going too.

NOT saying Utah wants RA, just was an possible. By no means am I a BB expert or run a team. Just a discussion.

It is sad, but every time has them.

I read a 38-page thread on clutchfans and came away convinced that not a single poster on that forum has ever heard of the Ted Stepien rule, let alone knows who Stepien was and why that rule exists.

traded all Cavs 1st rd picks away for 5 or 6 consecutive yrs? I knew the rule before the history. Read the history about a month ago when I heard it had a name. The other bad thing people keep bringing up using Kings as a 3rd team. Not realizing Perry came from the Kings so they can't trade for a year.

Now he has to start posting in the OT forum.

What are your political views, Chupacabra? Your religious views? No, go ahead, just shout them out. You're part of the family, now...

I learned a good lesson from my pops.

Never talk about Politics, Religion, or other men's wives at work.

I use that for forums also. :dupnoevil:

Not that I know of. When KingSpeed came over in July it started people looking. He came back about a week ago. It got me wondering if news was posted here from different sources, so I signed up.
and it is cool to get different view points besides just the homer view.

Clutchfans is pretty active, and there are some experts (or psuedo-experts, podcasters, etc ..) on there so you get a broad scope of stuff.
Some insider info from people that talk, a "resident" capologist, and people that find all kinds of news. If something new breaks, and you don't post it within the 1st 3-5 mins, your late.

Kind seems the same here, just more people there.

example. Currently there are 139 members on there. Get some breaking news and that gets up to ~1k. Maybe just cause it's a bigger city.
Ugh. There are no experts or pseudo experts at clutchfans. Most of them weren't even around the last time Houston won a title and one idiot actually said "he's not a Drexler fan. He's a Blazers fan." Geez.

Yeah. Multiple people seemed to think you were using "drexlerfan" as some kind of deep cover as a Rockets fan and then it slowly dawned on them that Drexler had played for other teams. That was probably the best part of your stint there.

the guys that got after you are not the ones i was talking about. They did come at you hard the 1st time. Not really sure what that was about, but it fed on itself. Now you do it intentionally, which you know, so ... what happens happens.
I was a little surprised the mods didn't step up the 1st time, but there are not that many of them.

That is probably true. He played at UH, then Portland, then the rockets. We try not to hold that against him. /s
Like Hakeem playing for Vancouver. ... Never happened.

Especially since he played for Toronto.
