My problem with Melo isn't his horrible defense. It's that he probably still thinks of himself as "the man", and "a starter".

I don't know what actually happened in Houston but every single thing I've read about Melo there says that he was willing to accept a bench/reduced role, that he had absolutely no toxic incidents, and that his teammates all really liked him. I'm not sure if that's 100% true or not but to be fair to Melo he has gotten the cancer rep without there being a lot of substance to it.

From what I read, when the OKC coach realized just how bad he was at defense, he was let go. Apparently, it didn't take Houston that long.

Honestly, I think his deciding to not play defense (which probably happened when he was like 16) will ultimately be his legacy.

Yeah, his defense definitely sucks. I don't think that makes his attitude toxic though.

Ok fine I’ll play.

Melo has an identical contract to Stauskas. A straight up swap?

Curry
Turner
Harkless
Melo
Collins
Even better if the Bulls thought Swanigan had some upside and got his contract off our books next year.

You know how sometimes people see Jesus in their toast, well I took a shit this morning...

Casey said that, a few months back, he texted some players about interest in Melo coming to POR. From his read on those responses, he said "that ship has sailed." Doesn't think there is interest on either Melo's side or the team's.

This....and Casey makes the point that if Melo wanted to be a Blazer he would be one by now...if I were Melo I'd take my millions and go home to New York or get an NBA tv job in Atlanta

POrTlnd...

It's in code. Melo is coming!!!

Well at least this time if we did pick him up for 25 games, we wouldn't be giving anything up for him but whoever we cut.
Baldwin?

What, no picture of him in said restaurant?

Clearly him in the back

Just say NO to Melo at least as the 1st option i might be open to it if no trade can be made but even then i would rather take a chance on Wes if he get's bought out before exploring the idea of Melo on the Blazers. I would rather give time to Trent or even Simons before trying Melo cause he is a shell of his old self.

I don't want Melo at this point. But he does play PF these days (240 lbs and a 7' wing) Neither Wes, Simons nor Trent play that position.
Jake on the other hand would be a better option if you wanted a shooter at the PF position.
